What foods can reduce swelling in feet

Generally speaking, in the later stages of pregnancy, due to the growth of the fetus, pregnant women are prone to swollen feet and legs. At this time, not only should they supplement high-protein foods in time to provide nutrition for the body, but they should also eat more fresh vegetables and fruits to supplement the body's vitamins. In fact, eating pumpkin and animal liver during pregnancy is very good for pregnant women.

1. Eat a high-protein, low-salt diet

You need to supplement protein every day, such as chicken, pork, fish, seafood, shellfish, eggs, milk and dairy products, soy products (such as soy milk, tofu, dried tofu, vegetarian chicken, bean buns, dried shredded vegetables), etc. These foods are cooked with fresh ingredients and strong-flavored vegetables, such as onions, tomatoes, garlic, fennel, celery, coriander, mushrooms, wolfberries, red dates, black dates, lemons, vinegar, bay leaves, etc. The amount of salt used should be appropriately reduced, as overly salty foods will aggravate edema.

2. Eat enough fruits and vegetables

Vegetables and fruits contain many vitamins and trace elements necessary for the human body. They can enhance the body's resistance, strengthen metabolism, and also have detoxification and diuretic effects. Expectant mothers can eat more fresh vegetables and fruits every day, which is good for relieving edema.

3. Take enough vitamin B1

Foods rich in vitamin B1 include yeast, liver, whole grains (such as brown rice), soybeans, legumes, wheat germ, and potatoes, among which animal sources have a higher utilization rate. But in terms of dietary intake, plant sources are the main way we usually get vitamin B1.

4. Eat foods with diuretic effects

Foods that are considered to have diuretic properties include onions, garlic, pumpkin, winter melon, pineapple, grapes, green beans, etc.

After pregnancy, in addition to paying attention to a balanced diet, you should also pay attention to getting more rest, massage your calves frequently, avoid maintaining the same posture, do appropriate exercise, or raise your feet for a while to allow the blood in the lower limbs to flow back to the heart, which is very effective in relieving edema.
