Which tooth is most important for chewing

In fact, each tooth of the human body has its own function, and for our daily life, the most important one is to grind food and chew it. The teeth that correspond to this function are very important to us. Only by cleaning and protecting them properly can we ensure that the teeth are not damaged. For us, daily dental protection is essential.

The functions of teeth are distributed as follows: the four front teeth are mainly used to cut food, and the adjacent one on each side supports the corners of the mouth, so these teeth cannot be pulled out; the two on each side at the back both assist the front teeth in cutting food and have the function of chewing food; the big teeth at the back are mainly responsible for chewing, and their role is very important.

1. How many teeth is best for a person?

Generally, a healthy adult has 28 to 32 teeth, 28 of which are essential. The other four are wisdom teeth. Not everyone will grow wisdom teeth, and some people may never grow wisdom teeth throughout their lives. Wisdom teeth are the 8th and last teeth on each side. Clinically, teeth are divided into three parts: crown, root and gum. The visible white part of the upper and lower teeth is called the crown, which is covered by enamel; the root is covered by cementum, and the root is the part inside the alveolar socket; the gums refer to the part where the root and the crown meet. Although some people may have more than 28 teeth, there are only 28 functional teeth, excluding wisdom teeth. Many adults will never grow wisdom teeth in their lifetime, so the number of teeth they have is 28. Some adults will grow 1 to 4 wisdom teeth, so the average number of teeth an adult has should be between 28 and 32.

Habits for healthier teeth

1. Teeth tapping

Teeth tapping can effectively enhance the health of the tissues around the teeth, just like human physical exercise. It can also promote the growth of saliva in the mouth, making the tooth surface clean. The method of teeth tapping is very simple. Just close your mouth tightly, and use your upper and lower rows of teeth to make teeth tapping movements. Keep doing this 100 times every day and make it a habit.

2. Brush your teeth

This is the most common method. People are brushing their teeth, but not many people brush well and seriously. The so-called good brushing means brushing every surface of each tooth cleanly.

The correct way to brush your teeth is to brush the upper teeth in a circular motion from top to bottom, and the lower teeth in a circular motion from bottom to top. The inside of the upper and lower front teeth should be brushed along the gaps between the teeth, and the chewing surfaces of the teeth should be brushed back and forth. In order to brush the tooth surface more cleanly, you must choose a health care toothbrush with a small brush head and soft and elastic bristles.

In order to effectively prevent and treat periodontitis and tooth decay, it is best to choose toothpaste containing chlorhexidine or sodium fluoride. These two substances can effectively help prevent tooth allergy symptoms.

3. Pick your teeth

Some foods are embedded in plaque and are difficult to remove by brushing. It is best to use a dental probe to gently remove the embedded food and clean the plaque. Some people are used to using toothpicks, but be sure not to use too much force or too hard, so as not to injure the gums or even cause alveolar bone absorption.
