Complete collection of massage techniques for the elderly

As people age, their bodies become more and more aged and they will be plagued by a series of diseases. For the elderly, they often feel tired, especially after doing some work, the body can't bear it and the muscle metabolism rate becomes slower and slower. However, if the elderly do some massage regularly, their condition will improve. There are many acupoints on the human body. Finding these acupoints and performing targeted massage will achieve different results.

Regular body massage is very beneficial to the health of the elderly. Generally speaking, the massage care techniques commonly used by the elderly are: (1) Vibration method: using rapid and rhythmic vibrations, using fingers or palms to continuously and evenly vibrate, tap or pat the treatment area, which can improve the various functions of internal organs.

(2) Massage: Use the tip of your thumb and the palm of your hand to gently push against the skin. This can promote blood and lymph circulation in the skin and subcutaneous tissue, and can also relieve local pain and swelling. (3) Palm kneading method: Place the palm side close to the skin, rub the palm vigorously in a circular motion, move back and forth, and alternate between the two hands. Use the thumbs to alternately massage the fingers to promote blood circulation and reduce swelling.

(4) Kneading method: Hold the massage area with five fingers and knead in the opposite direction. This technique can act on deep tissues and is beneficial to the recovery of muscle function. Therefore, it is often used in muscle massage. It has a certain effect on muscle atrophy. (5) Tapping method: Use the strength of the wrist to perform tapping massage. There should be rhythm and elasticity when tapping. There are three types of tapping: finger tapping, palm tapping, and fist tapping. ① Fingers: When tapping, bend the fingers slightly and spread out the five fingers. ② Palm: Tap with the palm side of your hand, with the palm side of your fingers touching the massage area, and keep your five fingers slightly together when tapping. ③ Fist: Put your five fingers together and make an empty fist. This method is suitable for back massage. Please note that massage should not be performed on the elderly who have symptoms such as bleeding, suppuration, infection, or who suffer from diseases such as lymphangitis, phlebitis, and advanced tumors.
