In our lives, many people like to drink rose tea, but most rose tea is in the state of buds. Few people use rose petals to make tea, because rose petals are more fragile than rose buds. Many people think that the roses bought in tea shops are not as good as the water made from fresh flowers after drying. So how to dry rose petals? 1. Material selection time The first step in drying rose petals is to select the materials. If the roses are grown at home, they are usually picked in the morning, when the fragrance is the strongest. If they are mature varieties purchased outside, they can be picked directly, but the rose petals must not have any moisture, otherwise they will rot. 2. Disinfection If you want to make high-quality dried roses, it is best to first wash the selected rose petals in salt water, remember not to damage the shape of the petals, and then disinfect them once with a small amount of dilute potassium permanganate solution to remove any remaining impurities and germs. 3. Arrange the petals Then place the selected rose petals on the metal filter one by one, without overlapping the petals, and keep a distance of 3 to 5 cm. Then cover them with a layer of plastic film and place them on a ventilated and breathable surface for about 2 days, keeping the temperature at 18 degrees. 4. Drying Then place the rose petals in a sunny environment to dry for 3 to 5 days. Remember not to expose them to direct sunlight. It is best to place them in a location with good air circulation, otherwise the roses will change color. Also, turn the petals over every 1 to 2 days to ensure that both sides of the petals are in contact with the air. 5. Natural air drying method If you use natural air drying, first choose a medium-sized, air-conditioned room with good ventilation. Then place the petals separately on white papers, and then cover them with a layer of white paper, making sure that the petals do not overlap. Then face the air vent, and they will become dried flowers in about a week. 6. Desiccant dehydration method You can also use desiccant to dehydrate the roses and make dried flowers. Generally, use some drying powder, then bury them in a sunny environment, take them out after about two weeks, and then use a brush to wipe off the drying powder on the petals. 7. Microwave drying A common method for drying roses is to use a microwave oven. First, put a paper towel in the microwave, and then place the petals in there, keeping them about 3 to 5 cm apart and not overlapping. It usually takes about 25 seconds to dry. |
