What to do if the boy is cowardly

What to do if the boy is cowardly

Most boys are relatively strong and independent because it is their nature. Moreover, strong and independent boys are more likely to be liked by girls and can do better in interpersonal communication. However, everyone's personality is different, and not all boys are self-reliant and independent. Some parents find that their boys have a more cowardly personality. So what should we do if boys are cowardly?

1. Encourage children to contact the outside world and enter society. The first thing to do is to correct overprotective or overly strict family education. Parents should consciously create opportunities for their children to go out and interact with others, especially those raised by their mothers or grandmothers, who should step out of the small circle of the family. Parents should take their children to parks or other public places often to let them contact the outside world, understand society, and adapt to society. Parents should also take their children to visit relatives and friends and travel to different places to broaden their horizons and enrich their knowledge. At the same time, they should encourage their children to play games with other children and participate in cultural and sports activities together.

2. Encourage children to not be afraid of strangers and speak boldly. Most children with timid personalities don’t like to talk and are not good at arguing, especially in front of strangers or in public. For such children, parents should create conditions for them and provide them with opportunities to speak boldly. For example, if a child is afraid to speak in front of strangers, whenever guests come, parents should let the child interact with the guests and seek their cooperation, so that the guests can ask questions with purpose. This will make things easier after a while. In this way, the child's cowardly character can be gradually changed. In addition, parents can provide their children with more opportunities to think independently and express their own opinions. When encountering something, parents can ask their children more often: "What do you think we should do?" If the child is right, parents should praise and encourage him/her so that the child can gain confidence and courage. If the child is wrong or expresses it inaccurately, parents should not blame the child or make him/her feel embarrassed. Parents should guide their children and let them think about why what they said was wrong. In this way, the child's speaking ability can be continuously improved and the child's cowardly personality can be overcome.

3. Encourage children to live independently and do things boldly. Some introverted children only want to get along with people they are familiar with, and they will develop a subconscious fear when dealing with unfamiliar people. Some children are already in junior high school, but their parents ask them to go out to buy some oil, salt, sauce and vinegar, but they are unwilling to do so. Therefore, parents should pay attention to cultivating their children's ability to handle things from an early age. For example, parents can purposefully give their children tasks that they can complete independently and set a time limit for completion. If the child encounters difficulties, parents can help him overcome them and give necessary guidance and encouragement. When the child finishes the task, he should be praised immediately to build his confidence. Parents can also contact the teachers at school and ask them to let their children become small cadres in the class and perform certain social work to improve their children's communication and interpersonal skills.

4. Cultivate children’s courage and spirit of not giving in. The biggest characteristic of a cowardly child is that he is always afraid of something. No matter what happens, his first reaction is to be afraid of this and that. Therefore, eliminating the word "fear" and allowing children to express themselves boldly is an important means to get rid of cowardice, and repeated practice allows children to cultivate a strong character through training is an important way. It is recommended that parents cultivate their children's strong character from the little things, always think about the impact on their children's character, and often tell their children stories and fairy tales about brave people.
