When it comes to formaldehyde, what comes to our mind is a recent incident in which a resident died because formaldehyde was not properly handled. From this incident we can see that formaldehyde can really destroy a person's body completely. We cannot think that formaldehyde does not matter to us just because we cannot see it. Placing plants is an effective way to remove formaldehyde, but can placing aloe vera remove formaldehyde? Carbon atoms form three σ bonds with three sp² hybrid orbitals. One of them forms a sigma bond with oxygen. The three bonds are in the same plane. A p orbital of the carbon atom and a p orbital of the oxygen overlap with each other to form a π bond, which is perpendicular to the plane formed by the three σ bonds. Bond angles ∠HCH=111.5°, ∠HCO=121.8°. Bond length: carbon-hydrogen bond: 120.3pm, carbon-oxygen double bond: 110pm. Dipole moment 7.56×10⁻³ºC·m. It is a colorless aqueous solution or gas with a pungent odor. It is easily soluble in water and ether, the highest concentration of aqueous solution can reach 55%, pH value: 2.8~4.0. It can be miscible with organic solvents such as water, ethanol, acetone, etc. in any proportion. The liquid tends to become turbid when stored for a long time at a relatively cold temperature, and trioxymethylene precipitates at low temperatures. Some formaldehyde escapes during evaporation, but most of it turns into trioxymethylene. This product is a strong reducing agent, and its reducing power is stronger when it is alkaline in trace amounts. It can be slowly oxidized into formic acid in the air. Vapor relative density 1.081-1.085 g/mL (air = 1), relative density 0.82 g/mL (water = 1), refractive index (nD₂₀) 1.3755-1.3775, flash point 56°C (gas), 83°C (37% aqueous solution, closed cup), boiling point -19.5°C (gas), 98°C (37% aqueous solution), melting point -92°C, autoignition temperature 430°C, vapor pressure 13.33 kPa (-57.3°C), explosion limit 7%-73% in air, V/V. Aloe vera can absorb formaldehyde, but it takes a long time to absorb, and the formaldehyde release period is 3 to 15 years. 1. Keep ventilation for a long time. Through air flow, harmful gases are channeled outdoors. But ventilation is slow, and a newly renovated house generally takes 3 years. 2. You can put a few more pots of plants like spider plants, agave, etc. to let them absorb formaldehyde, but this method is also slow. 3. You can use some physical means, such as placing some activated carbon, nano-active minerals, etc. in the room, which have better adsorption properties. 4. Some chemical methods can be used. However, using chemical reagents may cause secondary pollution and damage furniture. 5. You can also use more environmentally friendly methods, such as herbal Diyalin, which is plant-based and safer and removes the bacteria more thoroughly. After removal, close the doors and windows for 24 hours and then open for ventilation. After spraying back and forth several times, you can have a ventilation period of 3 days, and then test to see if it meets the standards. If it does, you can move in. |
