I feel very sleepy from 5 to 7 pm

People's mental state is different at many times of the day, especially when they wake up in the morning. Most people are very energetic. But after studying or working for a period of time, their mental state will drop sharply and they will become very sleepy. Therefore, we need a rest time such as lunch break, but some people feel very sleepy between 5pm and 7pm. So why do they feel sleepy during this period?

1. Energy Tide

A person's energy throughout the day is not the same from the beginning to the end, but has ups and downs like a roller coaster. People will enter a biological low period between 2 and 3 in the afternoon and between 9 and 10 in the evening. You can imagine that your energy is like the waves. When the tide is high, the vigorous energy can drive various activities of the human body, including various complex operations of the brain, while when the tide is low, people appear tired and weak. Various functions of the human body and the brain's computing ability have degenerated, and many things are left on the beach of time. Sleepiness in the afternoon is actually the ebb period of our energy.

2. Reasonable

Generally speaking, an adult needs about seven and a half to eight hours of sleep. If you don't get enough sleep, you will naturally feel extra sleepy in the afternoon of the next day. This is because your body wants the energy that has not been replenished. If you didn't sleep well last night, you must make sure to take fifteen minutes to half an hour to make up for the sleep the next day. Otherwise, you will be so sleepy in the afternoon that your work efficiency will be very low. The afternoon sleep time should not be too long, which will affect the regularity of your biological clock and make you unable to sleep at night. Then you will feel even more sleepy the next day, and thus enter a vicious circle.

3. Forced awakening

Generally speaking, we all feel sleepy in the afternoon, but is there any way to quickly get rid of the sleepiness? In fact, there are several methods, but it depends on whether you want to. First of all, we recommend a very simple and quick method of torture - pouring cold water on the face. When you are sleepy, scoop up a handful of cold water and pour it on your face. You will wake up immediately. Then we recommend an equally simple and easy-to-use method - oxygen inhalation. It seems high-end, but it is just going out for some fresh air. The oxygen content in indoor air is much lower than that outdoors. When you inhale high oxygen content, you will appear much more energetic. Of course, if there is a cold wind outside, the effect will be better.

4. Drowsiness

If sleepiness can be divided into ten levels, the higher the level, the deeper the degree. Then the sleepiness level of the person who can be forced to stay awake is generally below level six. Many means can be used to prevent the lingering sleepiness. If the sleepiness level has reached above level six, it is mostly caused by staying up too late at night. You can consider sleeping for ten or fifteen minutes. Sharpening the knife does not delay the chopping of wood. This short period of rest can restore your energy. Don't start working immediately after waking up. Stretch your body, move your limbs, then drink a glass of water and eat something, and then start working.
