How to clean walnuts

How to clean walnuts

If you want to eat fresh walnuts, you must wash them clean, otherwise it will be harmful to your body and will also affect the beauty of the walnut surface. Therefore, fresh walnuts just picked need to be brushed clean with a brush, but be sure not to use too much force. Try not to brush too many in a day. You can put the walnuts in a cool and dry place to dry.

1. When the walnuts are in the new stage (3-5 days, after the walnuts have been cleaned and dried in the shade), do not rub them deliberately. Take one walnut at a time and use a large, hard, coarse-bristled brush. Do not wear gloves (because there is a small amount of sweat on your hands that can moisturize the walnuts). Brush as hard as you can, but do not rub the walnut with the part outside the bristles. Brush for 20 minutes, then change a walnut and brush for another 20 minutes. It doesn't take more than one day, just three rounds. After three days, when you look at the walnut again, you will see that it not only has a thin patina, but also the protruding parts of the texture are gradually becoming rosy.

2. When the patina is first seen and the walnut is in the bottleneck stage, stop using a particularly hard, coarse-bristled plastic brush, otherwise it will affect the patina and damage the texture of the walnut like a Wu Pan. At this stage, you should use a medium-hardness toothbrush and a dense and fine-bristled plastic brush to maintain the walnuts. At this stage, the walnuts color very quickly. If you don't brush or use a coarse-bristled hard brush, it will easily cause the walnuts to have color difference and skin spots, and the coarse-bristled brush cannot effectively enter the sunken parts of the grain, resulting in the ineffective removal of white stubble, which will make the walnut feel unclean. The medium-bristled toothbrush has a high density and moderate hardness, and it is easy to remove white stubble (white fluff) by inserting and stirring, and give the walnuts a uniform color in the process of brushing in the same direction along the grain. At this stage, some people say that you should brush for 3 hours a day, which is completely unnecessary. Just rub it for a while. Take out the brush and rub it for a few minutes. An hour a day is great. Of course, it doesn’t matter if you forget to brush it for a day or two occasionally. This stage generally lasts for 2 years.

3. When the walnut is in the stage of thick patina and mature, the purpose of brushing is not to make the color even, but to clean the dust and dirt. At this stage, it can be cleaned mainly with a toothbrush or a dense-bristled soft brush. Brushing and picking once every half a month is enough. During the entire process of playing with walnuts, insist on not using a boar bristle brush, because the more you brush, the darker and brighter the walnuts will become.
