How to best preserve walnuts

How to best preserve walnuts

Walnut is a very common food. It tastes very good and has high nutritional value. That is why everyone likes it very much. Many people with poor physical fitness want to eat walnuts to nourish their bodies, but most people don’t know how to preserve walnuts, which will cause the walnuts to be damaged. You must pay more attention.

1. Ventilation and drying

Walnuts are dried fruits, so they need to be kept dry at all times.

2Pack in ventilated bags

The environment for storing walnuts should be dry and ventilated. Using bags with poor ventilation may cause the storage environment of the walnuts to be damp and closed, which is not conducive to the long-term storage of walnuts and will also affect the taste.

3. Complete preservation

If there are cracks on the walnut shell or the shell is peeled off, the walnut kernel inside will be directly exposed to the air, so the shelf life of the walnut will be greatly shortened and the taste will deteriorate when eaten.

2. Do not seal

When storing walnuts, they should be placed in a well-ventilated bag and not sealed. Ventilation can disperse the moisture around the walnuts, preventing them from getting damp, moldy and deteriorating.

3. Do not peel the shells for storage

The walnut kernels protected by the shell can reduce their contact with the outside air, which is more conducive to maintaining dryness and freshness, and also prolonging the shelf life of the walnuts.

1. Refrigerate dried walnuts and they can keep for 10 months.

2. The shelf life of green-skinned walnuts is 1 month.

3. Fresh walnuts are wet walnuts, and their shelf life is only 15 days.

4. The shelf life of walnut kernels alone is 6 months.

5. The shelf life of walnut oil that is normally processed and shipped out of the factory is about 3 months.

6. The shelf life of refined walnut oil is about one year.

1. First of all, try to put it in a ventilated place. Do not use sealed bags. It is best to use cloth bags, sacks or other bags with good ventilation.

2. Secondly, using bags with good ventilation is to prevent the walnuts from being dry enough. The bags with good ventilation can effectively and quickly dissipate and absorb moisture, thereby better maintaining the dryness of the walnuts and preventing them from getting damp and moldy.

3. Finally, it is recommended that the walnuts should not be peeled, so that they can be stored longer in the shell.

Note: Do not put it in the refrigerator. The refrigerator is relatively humid and it will easily get moldy if not stored properly. You can take it out to dry in the sun when there is sunshine, but do not expose it to excessive exposure. If exposed to excessive exposure, the walnuts will easily produce oil.
