How to deal with rust on iron pans, a way to stay healthy and avoid illness

Nowadays, many newly bought iron pans will rust because they need to cook for a long time and they will rust when they come into contact with water. Many people think that rust on iron pans is not a problem and they just need to clean the inside of the pan regularly. However, when cooking, some rusty dust will inevitably get into the pan, which may cause harm if accidentally ingested. Therefore, the rusted areas of the iron pan must be cleaned regularly to be safer when cooking.

How to prevent iron pan from rusting

1. Use ginger, onion and lard to fry in the newly bought iron pan

2. After cleaning the cooking utensils, soak them in rice washing water with a high concentration and dry them to prevent rust.

3. Heat the iron pan first, then pour a little oil, spread it evenly, then turn off the heat, and rinse it with clean water when using it.

How to remove rust from iron pan

1. Boil lemon in water to quickly remove rust.

2. Put ginger or leftover tea dregs in gauze and wipe the iron pot

3. Dip a little fine sand or salt into onion, potato or radish peel and rub the knife surface vigorously to easily remove rust.

4. Pour a small amount of vinegar into the hot iron pan, scrub it with a hard brush while it is burning, pour out the dirty vinegar and rinse with clean water.

Method 1 : First burn white vinegar to wash off the rust, then wash it with clean water and dry it over fire. Use fatty pork, put it in a hot pan, and don't add oil. Wait until the pork is cooked through bit by bit. Continue to cook, coating the inside of the pan with oil. Wait until the pork looks less oily. Heat it again, turn off the heat and let it cool down on its own. Leave it overnight and it won’t rust as much in the future. (ps: it doesn’t rust much, but it does not mean it will never rust, please pay attention)

Method 2 : Heat the iron pan and wipe it with a cloth dipped in vinegar. It is simple, quick and thorough. Don't wash it too clean after each use, leave some oil to prevent rust. You can first heat the iron pan, then pour in a little oil, spread it evenly with a mirror, and then take care of it. When you use it the next day, rinse it with clean water.

In addition to the above two methods, after scrubbing the rust clean with a nylon wool ball, wipe the pot dry after washing it so that no water marks remain on the pot body, and rotate it in a dry and ventilated place, the iron pot will not rust. However, people who are impatient will find it annoying to wipe it dry every time.
