My jaw hurts and I can't bite anything

My jaw hurts and I can't bite anything

In our lives, many people often feel jaw pain. In fact, there are many reasons for jaw pain. When the jaw is sore, it can easily cause problems with our bite. When eating, we will feel that we can’t bite the food. Sometimes, there will be gum pain and some oral diseases. So what is the reason for jaw pain and inability to bite?

1. Your condition is not a serious illness. The scientific name is: right (left) mandibular joint disorder syndrome. It is not a serious problem, but symptoms of joint subluxation will still occur. Once dislocated, you may feel discomfort or pain.

2. Generally, there is no need to see a doctor. Because it can be relieved on its own, but if you don't pay attention, it will recur. You can massage the painful area yourself, which is approximately on the cheek, 2-3 cm below the ear hole. When you massage this area with your hands, the subluxated mandible will automatically bounce back to its original position. (The massage area is the temporomandibular joint)

Note: Keep the area warm and avoid exposing the temporomandibular joint area to air conditioning or fans. Don't be too greedy for coolness. Consider applying hot water to the TMJ and surrounding area. Gently massage the painful area and it will ease on its own. The pain will be relieved and the disorder syndrome will also be relieved. Be careful next time and don't open your mouth too wide.

Generally speaking, if you gently massage the affected joint (of course, the temporomandibular joint, which is the area around your cheek), it will bounce back automatically. That is, the subluxated joint is reduced.

Note:

1) Take good rest and don’t stay up late

2) Avoid getting the affected side cold. That is to say, if you are on both sides, don't let the air conditioner/fan blow directly on both sides.

3) When the disease occurs, you can use a hot water bottle to warm the affected side.

4) It can be relieved on its own. You don't have to go to the hospital.
