Does a wooden bed contain formaldehyde?

Many people think that if they use wooden beds, there will be no formaldehyde, but in fact, wooden beds also contain a certain amount of formaldehyde, which can cause great harm to people's health. Therefore, when buying a wooden bed, you need to measure the formaldehyde content first. If the formaldehyde content does not exceed the standard, there is no need to worry too much, and it will not cause harm to people's health.

Wooden beds contain formaldehyde.

As long as furniture products use adhesives, formaldehyde is inevitable. Most furniture, including solid wood furniture, uses adhesives on the edges and corners, so it is unlikely that the finished furniture can achieve completely "zero formaldehyde". From the perspective of wood products, some solid wood floors may have a relatively low formaldehyde content, but the formaldehyde content of artificial boards is generally relatively high, because some of the added materials used contain formaldehyde, so the formaldehyde content cannot be zero at all. This zero can only be said to be reduced to the lowest level, to the standard that does not cause harm to human health. There is no absolute "zero formaldehyde" furniture.

Many consumers believe that truly environmentally friendly solid wood furniture should be absolutely odorless. In fact, the so-called environmentally friendly furniture does not mean that the product has no formaldehyde or benzene at all, but that its safety content is within the national standards. Therefore, even real solid wood furniture cannot achieve zero formaldehyde.

Generally, the following methods are adopted:

1. The best way is to place the bed in a ventilated place to accelerate its evaporation and reduce VOC (volatile organic matter).

2. Use odor absorbents, such as charcoal and coal briquettes for adsorption.

3. Use photoelectric formaldehyde remover to ionize and remove.

4. Change the bed.

The above can be used in combination. If there is really no other way, you can open the windows for ventilation at night and place several hanging baskets in the room to purify the air.

It should be a mixed smell of paint and glue. The furniture you bought should be panel furniture with veneer. Hot melt glue will be needed in the veneer process. Larger and better companies will use better and more environmentally friendly hot melt glue, but small companies will choose some glue of poor quality. It is also related to the base material they choose, that is, the boards used for furniture are crushed, glued, and molded. Considering the durability of the boards, they will choose phenolic glue and urea-formaldehyde glue with better adhesion. However, both of them will volatilize toxic gases. Poor quality panel furniture will continue to volatilize, so what you feel now is normal.
