How long does it take to cook green shrimps?

Green shrimps are a very delicious kind of shrimp. They are rich in nutrients and taste delicious. You can eat green shrimps at any time without any taboos. Therefore, green shrimps are very popular among people. People often buy green shrimps and cook them themselves. However, it is difficult for many people to master the degree. Sometimes they are cooked for too long, and sometimes they are taken out before they are cooked. So today, let’s take a look at how long it takes to cook green shrimps.

Shrimp is a food with very soft and rotten meat. Cooking it for too long will damage its nutritional value.

Usually when boiling shrimp in plain water, the heating time varies depending on the size of the shrimp. After the water boils, add the shrimp. If the shrimp is relatively large, it will take about 5 minutes.

If the shrimp are smaller, it usually only takes 2-3 minutes. When the shrimp turns red, it means they are cooked. Green shrimp only need to be boiled for ten minutes. When cooking green shrimps, do not put them into the pot with cold water. This will cause the nutrients in the shrimps to run into the water and the shrimps will no longer be fresh. Be sure to wait until the water boils before adding the shrimp and cooking for ten minutes. Fresh shrimps themselves carry bacteria, so when cooking shrimps, add a small amount of water, about one-fourth of the shrimp's weight. When the water is fully boiled, put the shrimps into the pot. Wait until the shrimps turn completely red and cracks appear in the shell with some protruding flesh.

How to Cook Shrimp

1. Rinse the shrimps you bought with clean water first

2. Boiled shrimp in water - simple way to eat shrimp and how to clean it

3. Pick out the shrimp thread: The shrimp head is the combination of the head, thorax and shell. Its stomach, liver and other internal organs are concentrated here. After peeling off the shrimp shell, you can see a black line on the back, which is the shrimp's intestine. It is more convenient to use a toothpick. I don’t have a toothpick at home, so I use dental floss. Poke it on the back of the shrimp, then pick it up, and it can be picked out. When picking, apply even force to prevent it from breaking. If you don't pick it clean, you can pick it again later. Shrimp heads and shrimp intestines will inevitably contain some bacteria and are not edible, mainly to prevent bacterial infection. The shrimp head is a little difficult to handle, but we don’t eat the head, so I just cut off the head, which makes it easier to handle.

4. After picking out the shrimp thread and cutting off the head, also cut off the shrimp legs and spines.

5. Prepare to cook. Put clean water in the pot, add some pepper and lemon slices, and add appropriate amount of salt and ginger slices. Mainly used to remove fishy smell.
