There are many epilepsy patients in our lives. When an epileptic patient has an attack, his whole body will convulse and foam at the mouth. Therefore, when doctors treat patients, they usually give them an injection of sedatives or take some sedatives. Some epilepsy patients need to take medicine all year round. The medicines they take usually contain some valproate magnesium tablets. So what diseases can valproate magnesium tablets treat clinically?

Magnesium valproate tablets are tablets and are non-medical prescription drugs. It can be used to treat various types of epilepsy. It can also be used to treat manic episodes of bipolar disorder. Pay attention to adverse drug reactions: common ones include nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, diarrhea, etc. A few may experience drowsiness, tremor, ataxia, hair loss, abnormal excitement and irritability. Allergic rash, thrombocytopenia or platelet aggregation inhibition causing abnormal bleeding, leukopenia or toxic liver damage are occasionally seen.

Indications: Used to treat various types of epilepsy. It can also be used to treat manic episodes of bipolar disorder.

Dosage and Administration: Oral anti-epileptic, start with a small dose, 200 mg at a time, 2 to 3 times a day, gradually increase to 300 to 400 mg at a time, 2 to 3 times a day. For anti-mania, start with a small dose, 200 mg at a time, 2 to 3 times a day, and gradually increase to 300 to 400 mg at a time, 2 to 3 times a day. The maximum dose should not exceed 1.6 g per day. Children over 6 years old should take 20-30 mg/kg per day based on body weight, divided into 3-4 doses.

Adverse reactions: Common reactions include nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, diarrhea, etc. A few may experience drowsiness, tremor, ataxia, hair loss, abnormal excitement and irritability. Allergic rash, thrombocytopenia or platelet aggregation inhibition causing abnormal bleeding, leukopenia or toxic liver damage are occasionally seen.

Contraindications: Not suitable for patients with leukopenia and severe liver disease.

Precautions

1. Patients with liver or kidney dysfunction should reduce the dosage or use with caution. Patients with thrombocytopenia should use with caution. Liver function and white blood cell and platelet counts should be checked regularly during medication.

2. If serious adverse reactions such as impaired consciousness, abnormal liver function, pancreatitis, etc. occur, the drug should be discontinued.

3. The adverse reactions of this product are often related to excessively high blood drug concentration (>120μg/ml), so it is recommended that hospitals with conditions should conduct blood drug concentration testing.
