Modern medicines are produced in large quantities and in many types, which makes many patients feel dazzled when using them. Too many types of medicines and many strange names make it difficult to remember their characteristics, especially some external ointments with repetitive names and complicated effects. For example, clindamycin ointment is a commonly used drug. Let’s take a look at how to use clindamycin ointment. I hope everyone can understand. Dosage For topical use. Wash with water and apply to the affected area. Take an appropriate amount of cream and apply a thin layer on the affected area once in the morning and evening. Precautions 1. Patients who are allergic to lincomycin may also be allergic to clindamycin. 2. Interference with diagnosis: Serum alanine aminotransferase and aspartate aminotransferase may increase after taking the drug. 3. The following situations should be used with caution: (1) Patients with intestinal diseases or a history of such diseases, especially ulcerative colitis, regional enteritis, or antibiotic-related enteritis; (2) Decreased liver function; (3) Severe renal impairment. 4. To prevent the occurrence of acute rheumatic fever, the course of treatment with clindamycin for hemolytic streptococcal infection should be at least 10 days. 5. During medication, you should pay close attention to the frequency of bowel movements. If the frequency of bowel movements increases, you should be aware of the possibility of pseudomembranous colitis and stop the medication in time and take appropriate treatment. 6. In the treatment of pseudomembranous colitis caused by clindamycin, discontinuation of the drug alone may be effective for mild cases, while moderate to severe cases require correction of water and electrolyte imbalances. If the condition does not improve significantly after the above treatment, metronidazole 250-500 mg should be given orally, 3 times a day. If the disease relapses, metronidazole can be taken orally again. If it is still ineffective, vancomycin (or norvancomycin) can be used orally instead. Adults can take 0.5 to 2.0 g per day, divided into 3 to 4 doses. 7. For patients with impaired renal function (except those with severe renal impairment), the dosage of this product generally does not need to be reduced. Patients with severe renal and/or hepatic impairment need to monitor serum drug concentrations when using this product. 8. This product may occasionally cause excessive growth of microorganisms that are not sensitive to it, especially fungi, so care should be taken to prevent secondary infection when using it. |
