My hand is swollen from a fish bone

Although most people like to eat fish, and fish tastes very good no matter how it is cooked, most fish have a lot of bones. I believe many people have experienced fish bones stuck in their throats when eating fish, and it is also very dangerous when handling fish. Some fish bones are very hard and sharp, and can easily injure the hands of those handling them. So what should you do if your hands are injured by fish bones and are swollen?

Option 1:

The treatment of fishbone wounds depends on the type of fish;

If the fishbone that pierced you contains fish venom, it is not as simple as just reducing the swelling quickly. You may need to go to the doctor for anti-allergic or detoxification treatment.

If the area around the wound is not clean or the fishbone is very dirty when you are injured, it is very likely that bacteria and other pathogenic microorganisms will be brought into the wound, causing infection or even suppuration. Therefore, the first task is to confirm whether there are toxins or other things brought into the wound. If not, wash the wound with clean water first, squeeze out some blood, apply alcohol and bandage it with a hemostatic patch after cleaning. The injured part should be kept away from water as much as possible, otherwise it will be difficult to reduce swelling; if the redness and swelling do not subside for a long time or even show signs of expansion, and you feel uncomfortable (such as numbness of fingers or unchanged movement or general discomfort), you should go to the hospital immediately.

Precautions

Pay attention to the condition of the wound and choose a reasonable treatment method.

Option 2:

The first thing to do is to pull out the fish bone. Remember to use sterilized medical forceps to pull out the fish bone.

Then use iodine to disinfect the affected area, or use other skin ointments to sterilize, and then wrap it with gauze;

If the pain is severe and the fish bone is inserted very deep, it is recommended to go to the hospital for tetanus antitoxin to avoid infection;

If you find your finger festering, red and swollen for a few days, you must go to the hospital to check if there are any fish bones left, and then take anti-inflammatory drugs and apply anti-inflammatory drugs;

Being pricked by a fish bone is not a trivial matter. Some fish bones may contain toxins, so you must take it seriously. It is best to go to the hospital for treatment as soon as possible. In severe cases, amputation may even be required.
