Can I wear compression stockings at night?

Compression stockings are very tight and should not be worn for a long time. If you wear them when sleeping at night, it will cause poor blood circulation in the legs and cause swelling and pain. It may also prevent sweat from evaporating from the skin in time, causing blockage of pores, local skin redness and swelling, and cause folliculitis, etc.

Therefore, compression stockings should not be worn at night.

Side effects of compression stockings

Generally speaking, there are no side effects to wearing compression stockings regularly.

It is a product that promotes venous blood return to the heart. The highest support pressure is established at the ankle by the action and distribution of force, and gradually decreases upward along the leg, reducing to 70%-90% of the maximum pressure value in the calf, and 25%-45% of the maximum pressure value in the thigh. This decreasing change in pressure can enable venous blood to return to the lower limbs, effectively alleviating or improving the pressure on the lower limb veins and venous valves.

Can compression stockings slim your legs?

In many commercials for compression socks, after putting on the compression socks, the circumference of the girls' legs is significantly reduced compared to before. This is not false. Since compression stockings themselves have a certain amount of pressure, the legs are squeezed into the highly elastic socks, making them look naturally thinner. But in reality, the fat was not "burned" and the legs did not really become thinner.

Fat needs to be metabolized in the body to be eliminated. The so-called far-infrared and nanomaterial weight loss effects have not been scientifically confirmed, and it is unknown whether the products of more merchants have this function.

However, experts say that compression stockings also have positive effects and are helpful in reducing edema. Simply put, edema caused by obesity or disease means that too much water penetrates out of the blood vessels, and less water is absorbed back, causing the legs to appear "swollen".

Varicose vein socks and compression socks bring greater pressure to the legs, which can "squeeze" water back into the blood, thus helping to reduce edema. But as long as you take off your socks, the edema will slowly recover. Prolonged squeezing does not change the root causes of disease and obesity, and cannot really slim down your legs.
