How to cupping

Although modern medical technology has undergone rapid development, some traditional treatment techniques are irreplaceable. For example, cupping is a very popular Chinese medicine treatment technique, and it has a very long history. After countless generations of improvements, it has formed today's excellent cupping technology. Let's take a look at what kind of cupping is better? I hope everyone can understand it.

Cupping is the common name for cupping therapy among the people, also known as pulling tubes or suction cups. It is a treatment method that uses heat to expel the air in the cup and uses negative pressure to make it adhere to the skin, causing blood stasis. This therapy can expel cold and dampness, dredge meridians, remove stagnation, promote qi and blood circulation, reduce swelling and relieve pain, draw out toxins and reduce heat. It has the function of adjusting the body's yin and yang balance, relieving fatigue, and strengthening the physical constitution, thereby achieving the purpose of strengthening the body and eliminating evil and curing diseases.

Specific cupping operation methods include:

(1) Cotton sticking method: Place a 75% or 95% alcohol cotton pad in the can. After it is lit, immediately pull it out and apply it to the affected area. Wait until the local skin becomes congested and turns purple.

(2) Fire throwing method: Soak the mouth of the cup, put a lit alcohol cotton ball or paper into the cup, and quickly cover the treatment area with the cup. This method is suitable for cupping from the side horizontal position.

(3) Flash fire method: Hold the alcohol cotton ball with tweezers, flash it inside the cupping jar once and then quickly place the cup over the treatment area. The cupping time is 10 to 15 minutes. When removing the cup, press the skin at the cup mouth with one finger to allow air to enter the cup, then remove the cupping jar. Do not pull it out forcefully to avoid damaging the skin. If cupping is used, the back is often chosen. A layer of lubricating oil can be applied to the treatment area first. After the cup is inserted, move it up and down or left and right until the skin becomes congested.

There are three points to note when using cupping: (1) Cupping is suitable for areas with plump muscles, such as shoulders, back, waist, and buttocks. It is not suitable for areas with loose muscles, hair and bone protrusions.

(2) Cupping is not suitable for people with skin diseases, hemorrhagic diseases, skin edema, or the waist and abdomen of pregnant women.

(3) Do not cupping for too long. If burns occur, smaller blisters can be left untreated; larger blisters can have the fluid inside them extracted with a syringe, or punctured with a sterilized needle to release the fluid, then coated with gentian violet and covered with a sterile dressing to secure.
