How to eat hazelnuts and how to open the shell

How to eat hazelnuts and how to open the shell

Hazelnuts are generally popular nuts, but because hazelnuts have a hard shell, many people find it very difficult to eat them. They need to use a hammer to break the shell, but sometimes because of incorrect control of the force, the shell breaks and the flesh inside also breaks. This makes people feel very sorry, as they spend so much effort but cannot eat it. So how can you eat hazelnuts and how can you open the shell quickly and conveniently?

1. Find a slightly thicker plastic bag, put two or three handfuls of hazelnuts in it, flatten it and then pat it flat with a kitchen knife (or hit it evenly with a hammer). Then separate the hazelnut kernels and shells. If it is not broken, just continue to tap it.

2. The pull ring of the can can help you. The iron sheet on the pull ring can be bent a few times and removed. The remaining small circle is a handy tool for peeling hazelnuts. Insert it into the opening of the hazelnut. Just like using a key to open a door, the hazelnut shell cracked open with a slight turn. This small iron ring is thin, so it can be easily opened even if the shell opening is narrow.

How to buy hazelnuts

1. The best hazelnuts are those that are large and round, have thin and white shells, high kernel yield, are dry, have large kernel pieces, are white in color, and have high oil content. The selection method should be based on observation. The best kernel is the one that is full, the second best is the one that is half-shrunken; the best color of the kernel is yellowish white, the second best is dark yellow, and the third best is brownish yellow. The appearance of oily kernels is a sign of spoilage. The best kernels are white and fresh, while kernels with oily "chrysanthemum hearts" are inferior. Kernels that are completely oily, sticky, dark brown, and have a rancid smell are seriously spoiled and cannot be eaten.

2. The hazelnut shells are brown, but most of the ones with good glossy surface have been smoked with sulfur to cover up some parts of poor quality. If you eat hazelnuts containing sulfur, your tongue will feel numb.

How to eat hazelnuts

1. Fry the hazelnuts until cooked, but don't make them burn. Eat them at any time, remove the shell and chew the meat. Eat any amount. It can stimulate appetite, improve eyesight and increase physical strength.

2. It can be combined with other ingredients to make porridge, etc. Such as rice and hazelnut porridge, five-nut shrimp porridge, etc.
