5. Osteoarthritis of joints

This is also the reason for swollen and painful finger joints. The main manifestations of this condition are: swelling, and bony growths in the joints - bone spurs.

2. What are the methods to reduce hand swelling?

1. Apply cold compress first and then hot compress

You can first apply a cold towel to the swollen area. Do not exceed 30 minutes at a time. Remember to apply cold compress again after resting for an hour, so as to give local tissue time to repair. After the cold compress treatment, wait for about 6 hours and then use a hot towel or hot water bag at a temperature of 60 to 70 degrees Celsius to apply to the swollen area. This can promote local blood circulation, so that the local swelling can be absorbed and subsided as soon as possible, thereby eliminating the swelling. It will go away in a day or two, so don't worry too much. But be careful not to apply too high a temperature when applying hot compress to avoid burning the skin.

2. Apply potato slices or mashed potatoes

Because potatoes are rich in potassium, potassium can not only help the body excrete sodium retained in the body, but also promote the body to excrete excess water, thereby achieving the effect of reducing swelling.
