A sore throat and discomfort in the neck are common. It is mostly caused by pharyngitis, contact with dust or harmful gases that irritate the throat, a habit of smoking and drinking, irritating food, allergies, poor body resistance, etc. These are all causes of a sore throat. So what should you do if you have a sore throat and neck?

Chronic pharyngitis is a common disease caused by chronic infection and is a diffuse pharyngeal lesion, mainly inflammation of the pharyngeal mucosa. It is more common in adults, and its main causes include recurrent acute pharyngitis, long-term irritation from dust or harmful gases, excessive smoking and drinking or other bad living habits, irritation from sinusitis secretions, allergic constitution or reduced body resistance, etc. Chronic pharyngitis can also be a local manifestation of certain systemic diseases, such as anemia, diabetes, cirrhosis and chronic nephritis. Key points of self-diagnosis: discomfort in the throat, a foreign body sensation, always feeling that there is something in the throat that cannot be swallowed or spit out, stimulating coughing, dryness, swelling, blockage, itching, etc., but rarely sore throat. Frequent spitting out of thick phlegm in the early morning can easily cause nausea. Since early-stage cancer of the esophagus or hypopharynx can also cause similar symptoms, if you notice the above symptoms, you should go to the hospital for a detailed examination to confirm the diagnosis. For local symptomatic treatment, you can use Chinese patent medicines, such as Liyanling, Coral Grass lozenges, Baoan Powder, etc., and take them together with tea: equal parts of Shuanghua, Ophiopogon japonicus, Sterculia lychnophora, and raw licorice, brew with boiling water and take frequently. Qingyan Drink: 50 grams each of black plum meat, raw licorice, Adenophora Root, Ophiopogon japonicus, Platycodon grandiflorum, and Radix Rehmanniae, mash and mix evenly, take 3 times a day, about 15 grams each time, and drink with boiling water.

Note: Pay attention to oral hygiene and brush your teeth every morning, evening and after meals. Reduce the stimulation of tobacco, alcohol and dust, and correct the bad habit of mouth breathing. You should strengthen your physical exercise, improve your physical fitness, prevent respiratory infections, use less tobacco and alcohol, and actively treat diseases of the organs around the pharynx. Arrange your life reasonably, keep a good mood and avoid worries and depression. Maintain appropriate indoor temperature and humidity and fresh air. It is advisable to eat light, sour, sweet and yin-nourishing foods, such as fruits, fresh vegetables, and green fruits. Regularly take Four Seasons Throat Lotions, Mint Throat Tablets, etc.

Judging from the symptoms and treatment process, the throat condition is caused by pharyngitis, and the discomfort in the neck is a manifestation of neck muscle strain. For the treatment of pharyngitis, you can choose appropriate antibiotics and throat lozenges. Drink more water and avoid spicy and irritating foods. In case of neck muscle strain, you should pay attention to rest and avoid spending too long in front of the computer. It is best to control the time within 4 hours a day. Get up and move around for 10-20 minutes every 40 minutes. Massage and acupressure are also effective.
