Migraine is generally considered a neurovascular headache in Western medicine, but in traditional Chinese medicine, it is mainly caused by liver fire. So treatment should start from this aspect. Acupuncture is more effective. Acupuncture for general pain will be effective at that time. A typical treatment usually lasts 7 to 10 sessions. Guidance: You can also massage some acupuncture points yourself, such as those on your hands and feet, for 20 minutes a day. It will also have a good effect. For traditional Chinese medicine, you can choose some Chinese patent medicines. The oral effects of Xiaoyao Pills and Zhengtian Pills should be good.

①There are many causes of headaches, mainly because pain-sensitive structures inside and outside the skull are stimulated, which are transmitted to the cerebral cortex through the pain center. It mainly includes the following aspects:

1. Intracranial diseases

Such as intracranial infectious diseases, intracranial vascular diseases, intracranial space-occupying lesions, etc.

2. Extracranial diseases

Such as neuralgia caused by bone diseases, temporal arteritis, headaches caused by eyes, ears, nose, and teeth, etc.;

3. Neurosis

Such as acute and chronic systemic infection, cardiovascular disease, poisoning, heat stroke, headache caused by uremia, etc.;

4. Systemic diseases

Such as neurasthenia, hysteria, etc.

Clinical type

1. Vascular

It is caused by high blood pressure, low blood pressure, inflammation, hot or cold stimulation, fatigue, lack of sleep, drinking, etc., and is mostly characterized by continuous swelling or throbbing pain in the entire head or local area. Because the causes of this type of headache come from blood vessels, they are collectively called vascular headaches. Headache caused by vasomotor dysfunction in the head is called primary vascular headache; headache caused by clear cerebrovascular disease (such as stroke, intracranial hematoma, cerebral vasculitis, etc.) is called secondary headache.

2. Neurological

The cause is unknown or it may be caused by nerve irritation, and it is mostly paroxysmal stabbing or shooting pain in irregular locations.

3. Muscle tension

Most of them are caused by inflammation, ischemia and strain of the neck muscles; some are induced by tension, fatigue, noisy environment, glaring light, etc., and are more common in young and middle-aged people, especially women. The main symptoms are soreness and swelling in the occipital area, shoulders and arms, centered around the neck.

4. Stress

It is caused by various reasons that lead to increased or decreased intracranial pressure, such as intracranial tumors, meningitis, cerebrospinal fluid leakage, etc. It is characterized by persistent bloating and pain, or accompanied by nausea and vomiting. Certain body positions may cause this type of headache to worsen or ease.

5. Damage

It is caused by craniocerebral trauma and may present as severe dull pain, distending pain, or throbbing pain, which may be accompanied by changes in consciousness.

6. Epileptic

It occurs before or after an epileptic seizure and may present as a full-head pain or paroxysmal throbbing, stabbing, or shooting pains, and may be accompanied by nausea and vomiting.

7. Sympathetic

It is caused by stimulation of the posterior cervical sympathetic nerves, mostly located in the occipital region, and can radiate to the surrounding areas. Symptoms are similar to vascular headaches, and may be accompanied by eye pain, tinnitus, dizziness, visual impairment, tearing, etc.

8. Diffusion

Caused by diseases of the eyes, ears, nose, trigeminal nerve and occipital nerve, such as glaucoma, refractive error, sinusitis, otitis media, mastoiditis, dental caries, alveolar abscess, cervical spine or paraspinal soft tissue diseases, etc.

9. Infectivity

It generally refers to headaches caused by infections outside the brain (such as colds, upper respiratory tract infections, pneumonia, etc., especially those accompanied by fever). Most of the time, there is swelling and pain in the whole head, and the characteristics are the same as vascular headaches. It improves as the infection improves.

10. Toxicity

Such as acute alcohol poisoning, carbon monoxide poisoning, lead, benzene, nitrate poisoning, etc.
