Main causes

(1) Certain arterial vessels become narrow or spasmodic, reducing the amount of blood flowing through them and causing insufficient blood supply to the brain area they supply.

(2) Hemodynamic disorders: when blood pressure drops and cardiac output decreases, the brain tissue is insufficiently supplied with blood.

(3) Certain reasons may cause increased blood viscosity, slow blood flow and changes in blood components, which may also lead to insufficient blood supply.

(4) Microthrombosis: Microthrombosis is the detachment of atherosclerotic plaques in the arteries, forming microemboli in the blood flow. These microemboli flow to the arterioles and block the blood vessels, resulting in localized cerebral blood supply insufficiency.
