Some people will find that their anus is turned outward when they go to the toilet to defecate. Everyone will think that this is anal prolapse, but it is actually just a manifestation of rectal prolapse. Rectal prolapse is divided into mild and severe, and the more obvious ones are moderate and severe. What needs to be given is treatment, because the anus of these patients is already very loose, and they often use inaccurate force when going to the toilet. 1. What is rectal prolapse? Rectal prolapse is a disease in which the rectal mucosa, anal canal, the entire thickness of the rectum and part of the sigmoid colon are displaced downward and protrude out of the anus. 2. Characteristics of rectal prolapse: Rectal mucosa and rectum repeatedly prolapse outside the anus with anal relaxation. 3. What disease in Western medicine does rectal prolapse correspond to? Rectal prolapse is equivalent to rectal prolapse in Western medicine. 4. How to diagnose rectal prolapse? The diagnosis can be made based on the history of prolapse and visual inspection of the prolapsed material. Rectal prolapse can be divided into three degrees: (1) Grade I prolapse: The rectal mucosa prolapses. The prolapsed material is light pink, 3 to 5 cm long, soft to the touch, inelastic, not prone to bleeding, and can retract on its own after defecation. (2) Grade II prolapse: The entire rectum prolapses. The prolapsed material is 5 to 10 cm long, cone-shaped, light pink, with circular and layered mucosal folds on the surface. It feels thick and elastic. The anus is loose and sometimes needs to be restored by hand after defecation. (3) Grade III prolapse: The rectum and part of the sigmoid colon prolapse, which is more than 10 cm long, cylindrical in shape, and very thick to the touch, and the anus is loose and weak. 5. Differential diagnosis of rectal prolapse Grade I rectal prolapse should be differentiated from prolapsed internal hemorrhoids. When internal hemorrhoids prolapse, the hemorrhoids appear granular, without annular mucosal folds, dark red or bluish purple, and bleed easily. In addition, there are some diseases that should be differentiated from rectal prolapse, such as rectal polyps, anorectal cancer, anal papilloma, anal warts, and external hemorrhoids. |
