Reasons for vomiting in summer

It is generally not easy to cause vomiting in the summer. However, many children have special physical conditions, so they will also experience vomiting in the summer. For vomiting in the summer, parents need to first choose the appropriate treatment method based on the child's physical condition, such as whether he or she has eaten anything before or what the child's physical condition is.

Once the lively and cute baby vomits, his parents will be very anxious. Vomiting is one of the most common symptoms in children.

The reason why vomiting is common in children is inseparable from their physiological and anatomical characteristics. When the baby is born, the stomach is transverse and easy to fold, and the sphincter is underdeveloped, so vomiting is very likely to occur. This type of vomiting is mostly a physiological phenomenon. About 60% disappears within 1 to 1.5 years after birth, 30% continues until about 4 years old and is relieved, and only about 10% is pathological and requires treatment. Vomiting is also a barometer of children's gastrointestinal function. In order to ensure the healthy growth of the baby, parents should understand some common characteristics and treatment principles of vomiting in children.

First, pay attention to the color of the vomit. The contents of physiological vomiting are mainly milk and milk curds, commonly known as "milk spitting up". Its characteristic is that it often occurs after feeding, especially when the baby is lying down. After changing to the holding position, the vomiting is significantly alleviated. This vomiting will gradually ease as the baby grows and adds complementary foods. In this situation, be sure not to feed too quickly or in excess. When feeding, take a semi-sloped position or raise the corner of the bed. After feeding, pick up the baby and pat his back gently to let the little one burp. This can reduce the occurrence of vomiting. Later, as the appropriate amount of complementary food is added and the viscosity of the milk increases, the vomiting will gradually disappear.

If the baby vomits yellow-green watery substance, which is the color of bile, it is called bilious vomiting. It indicates that there is intestinal obstruction caused by the reflux of intestinal contents. It is a dangerous signal of intestinal obstruction. It should not be taken lightly and the baby should be sent to the hospital for examination and treatment as soon as possible. If your home is remote and it is difficult to reach the hospital, do not feed your baby food or water during transportation to avoid aggravating intestinal obstruction. If the vomitus is red or brown, it indicates gastrointestinal bleeding. Bloody vomitus is one of the most serious emergencies in children. Shock may sometimes occur and timely rescue and treatment are necessary.
