Burns are a very common phenomenon in life. Most burns are caused accidentally. The most common burn is burns caused by boiling water. Under normal circumstances, as long as the burn is handled properly and the wound is kept clean, there will generally be no major problems. Some people have pus discharge after burns, which may be caused by infection. It is necessary to clean the wound in time, keep the wound clean, and then apply burn medicine. Emergency treatment methods for burns Burns are generally divided into first-degree burns, second-degree burns, and third-degree burns. 1. First-degree burns are characterized by red spots on the skin, no blisters, no skin breaks, and a burning sensation. 2. Second-degree burns cause blisters, peeling, redness and swelling. Second-degree burns are divided into superficial second-degree and deep second-degree. 3. Third degree burns with eschar, like cowhide or leather. Treatment of first degree burns: Apply balm or aloe vera juice to the wound, which can usually heal in 3 to 5 days. If you have burn medicine, the recovery effect will be better. However, do not apply toothpaste, soy sauce or other liquids or pastes with unknown medicinal properties on the wound at will, otherwise it will irritate the wound, cause infection, and be detrimental to recovery. Treatment of second degree burns: If you are burned or scalded, do not rinse or soak the wound with raw or cold water to prevent heat toxins from seeping into the wound, causing wound infection and skin ulcers. The correct way to do it is: 1. Quickly move away from heat sources and take off clothes to expose the wound; if clothes are stuck to the wound and cannot be taken off forcibly, you can use scissors to cut the clothes open. 2. Use white wine (edible white wine with a concentration of 20 to 50 degrees) or the second rice washing water to rinse the wound to cool it down and prevent residual heat from causing deeper burns to the skin. 3. If blisters form due to burns, you need to use a sterilized needle or sterilized scissors to prick the blisters, and keep the blister skin. Do not cut it off or tear it off with your hands. This can protect the wound and prevent infection. 4. If the wound is clean and free of foreign matter, you can directly use burn medicine for treatment, such as Wanfu oil burn medicine. It is recommended to use Chinese medicine for treatment. If there is no burn medicine, you can use aloe vera juice instead. Squeeze the aloe vera juice and apply it to the wound without bandaging. Exposure therapy is more beneficial to wound recovery and reduces the chance of scarring. 5. If there is foreign matter left in the wound, you must carefully clean the wound, remove the foreign matter, and then use medication for treatment. You can use the water from washing rice for the second time (if the tap water is of poor quality, you can use purified water or cold boiled water to wash the rice and take the water from the second time) to clean the wound (this method is only for clinics and must be tested every time), and use a cotton swab to carefully remove foreign matter. After the wound is cleaned, you can apply medicine to the wound. If the burn area is large and the degree is deep, causing severe dehydration or fever in the human body, it is recommended to send to the hospital for infusion treatment in time, otherwise it may be life-threatening. What is the emergency treatment for oil burns? Don't use vinegar for treatment Do not use vinegar, soy sauce, potato peels or honey to treat the affected area, as these substances will prevent the burned tissue from dissipating heat and make the situation worse. It may also cause infection. Try using alcohol to relieve the pain There is a folk method of using alcohol (or white wine) to treat burns, which is said to be quite effective. If your burn is not severe, you may want to try applying rubbing alcohol to the affected area. Cover the wound When you have treated the affected area, gently cover it with a clean piece of gauze. You can ignore it and the affected area will heal on its own. Daily care After 24 hours, gently clean the burned area with soap and water once a day. Cover it with gauze after washing and keep it dry. Never puncture a blister as this may cause infection. |
