Tips for getting melon seeds wet

Melon seeds are a common nut in our lives. Generally speaking, many people have experienced the phenomenon of melon seeds getting damp when eating them, especially in winter, when melon seeds are easily damp. Generally speaking, if the melon seeds are seriously damp, not only the taste of the melon seeds will deteriorate, but mold will also be produced. It is best not to eat them, otherwise it will affect your health. So what are the tips for dealing with damp melon seeds?

Can you still eat melon seeds if they get wet?

It depends on the degree of moisture. If the moisture is not serious, it can still be eaten after the following treatment. Of course, if the moisture is serious, the melon seeds will oxidize and mold, not only the taste will deteriorate, but the melon seeds will also produce mold, which is harmful to health.

Can't be eaten. Moldy melon seeds contain a large amount of mold, which can cause digestive tract flora disorders and food poisoning after eating. Moldy melon seeds also contain aflatoxin, a substance that is easily carcinogenic. Excessive intake can easily cause cancer in multiple organs.

What to do if the melon seeds are damp and not crispy

1. Refrigerator

Put the damp melon seeds in the freezer of the refrigerator and take them out after 12 hours. The melon seeds will regain their crispy texture. Because the temperature in the freezer of a refrigerator is very low, especially the place with cooling pipes is lower than other places, when melon seeds are placed in the freezer, moisture will condense on the cooling pipes, making the melon seeds crispy again, almost the same as fresh melon seeds.

2. Microwave heating

Spread the damp melon seeds flat on a plate, put them in the microwave and cook on high heat for 3 to 4 minutes. This will allow the moisture in the melon seeds to be released and they will slowly regain their crispiness. However, be careful not to use high heat when heating melon seeds in the microwave to avoid burning them.

3. Put it in the sun

When the weather is clear and the temperature outside is high, take the damp melon seeds outside, spread them out on a clean plate, and expose them to the sun. They can absorb moisture and make the melon seeds crispy again.

4. Heat the wok

Pour the damp melon seeds into a wok and stir-fry over low heat. This will absorb the moisture in the melon seeds and make them dry and crispy. Note, use low heat to avoid burning the melon seeds.

5. Heating pipe heating

Put the melon seeds on a plate and heat them on the heater, turning them over frequently to make them crispy. If it is not convenient to place plates or boxes on the heating pipe, put the melon seeds in a cloth bag and hang it on the radiator.

How to store melon seeds to avoid moisture

Melon seeds should be stored in a dry, ventilated and cool place. If the melon seeds are freshly fried, you need to wait until they cool down and then put them into a jar or bag and seal it for storage. Otherwise, the hot melon seeds will become damp more easily if they are packaged immediately. The opened melon seeds must be sealed well after being eaten. You can put a ziplock bag outside the packaging bag to seal it and try to drive out the air in the bag to better prevent moisture. In addition, the uneaten melon seeds can be sealed and stored in the refrigerator. This not only keeps the seeds crispy and not prone to spoiling and producing a rancid smell, but also keeps out insects and rodents.

How to prevent melon seeds from getting damp?

1. Put the melon seeds in an intact plastic food bag. Every time you take out a portion to eat, immediately squeeze out the air in the bag and tie the bag tightly.

2. If you buy a few extra bags of melon seeds and cannot finish them all at once, you can put them in the refrigerator. If you open the package but don't finish it, seal it with a sealing strip or clip and put it in the refrigerator to prevent air from entering.
