Formaldehyde is a harmful gas that everyone knows. We are exposed to formaldehyde in many places in our lives, especially in some industrial production. People are often harmed by formaldehyde, especially when decorating houses, because many new decoration materials are needed. These materials may emit a certain amount of formaldehyde, so it will cause chronic harm to human health. Today I recommend the method of using white vinegar to remove formaldehyde. The best way to remove formaldehyde with white vinegar: White vinegar cannot remove formaldehyde. At the beginning, vinegar can only temporarily cover up the smell of formaldehyde in the house with a strong vinegar smell. This is a way of "covering one's ears and stealing the bell" and has no substantial effect at all. Therefore, using vinegar to solve the problem is a wrong method. Formaldehyde always exists. Don’t believe in these so-called folk remedies! Can white vinegar and water remove formaldehyde? Formaldehyde is not soluble in ordinary water and vinegar. As mentioned above, vinegar can only temporarily cover up the smell of formaldehyde in the house with a strong vinegar smell at the beginning. Adding water will dilute the concentration of white vinegar. Not to mention removing formaldehyde, even the smell of vinegar will be reduced and cannot cover up the smell of formaldehyde. In response to the question "Can vinegar be used to remove formaldehyde in a new house?", someone conducted a special experiment. A 15-square-meter bedroom in a newly renovated apartment was selected as the "experimental room". Experimental process: 1. Raw air detection in the room After the room was sealed for 12 hours, a pungent odor was noticeable when entering the room, and professional inspectors took samples of the air in the laboratory room. After analysis by professional instruments, the formaldehyde content in the room was 0.23 mg/cubic meter. 2. Use vinegar to treat the air in the room The experimenters poured 4 bottles of 420ml vinegar into 6 bowls, which were then placed in various corners, wardrobes, and bedside tables of the "experimental room". Then seal the doors and windows to allow it to be fully fumigated. 3. Test the air in the room again A week (7 days) later, after ventilation for half a day and then sealing for 12 hours, when I pushed the door open, a strong smell of sour vinegar hit my nose, and the previous decoration smell had been covered up. The indoor air was a bit choking, so the professional inspector sampled the air in the room again at the same location for 15 minutes. Analysis by professional instruments showed that the formaldehyde content was 0.25 mg/cubic meter. This is because vinegar itself has almost no effect on removing formaldehyde from a new house. In addition, the doors and windows have been closed for a week, and indoor pollution sources are constantly being released, so more formaldehyde is accumulated. Although the house has been ventilated for a long time, the formaldehyde content will still increase due to the long sealing time. If the indoor formaldehyde exceeds the standard and you want to control it, the most effective way is to find a professional formaldehyde control company to do it. |
