What to do if you fall and break your butt bone

What to do if you fall and break your butt bone

Bumps and bruises are inevitable in life, and more serious bumps and bruises may even injure a bone or part of the body. Some people accidentally fall on their buttocks when they fall, and the bones in their buttocks also show relatively obvious reactions. If it is more serious, it may also cause hip bone fracture. So what should you do if you fall and hurt your buttocks?

1. When falling on the buttocks, the most vulnerable part is the coccyx. A fracture of the coccyx generally does not cause much harm to the human body, but it is not good for women who are planning to have a baby in the future. Because a coccyx fracture will reduce the area of the pelvis, which is not conducive to childbirth. In this case, you should go to the hospital to take a lateral X-ray of the coccyx, which will make the situation clear, excluding whether there has been a fracture in the past. But don't worry. If you really have a fracture or your pelvic area is small, you can have a caesarean section.

2. If it is a femoral head fracture, once nonunion and femoral head necrosis occur, there is an indication for joint replacement. A common complication of femoral neck fracture is femoral head necrosis. Once the fracture does not heal, the possibility of necrosis is almost 100%, and it is unlikely to heal the fracture through conservative treatment. Early surgery can prevent joint contracture and allow for early resumption of normal activities.

3. If the coccyx is injured, it may also cause pain during defecation, and some women may also experience pain during sexual intercourse. If it is caused by trauma, you may see bruises in the coccyx area. If there is no obvious bruising and the pain is long-term, it is recommended that you see an orthopedic surgeon as soon as possible to avoid serious problems such as infection or tumor. Coccyx injuries are often very painful, so the goal of home treatment is to reduce pain and avoid further irritation of the coccyx area. Avoid sitting for long periods of time in daily life, avoid sitting on hard objects when sitting, and alternately sit on both sides of the buttocks from time to time. At the same time, lean forward without resting all your weight on your tailbone.
