8 ways to strengthen your inner self

8 ways to strengthen your inner self

Life is stressful nowadays, and relationships between family, interpersonal relationships, colleagues and friends are more tense than before. People need to deal with all aspects of relationships. With high employment pressure and tight economic conditions, people's psychological problems are becoming more and more serious. There are often people on the Internet who commit suicide because they cannot bear the pressure. People can relieve stress through counseling or other methods.

1. Learn to be alone

Loneliness and being alone are not the same thing; they are two different things and are often confused. People often regard communication as a skill, but ignore that being alone is also a skill, and in a certain sense it is a more important skill than communication. If being bad at socializing is a weakness of character, then being unable to tolerate loneliness is simply a defect of the soul. Be able to endure loneliness and don't follow the crowd. Loneliness is the carnival of one person, and carnival is the loneliness of a group of people. So-called maturity means that the older you get, the more you can learn to adapt to everything by yourself. During your time alone, find what you truly love and develop your independent judgment.

Only when people learn to love themselves first can they have the ability to love others. If you don't learn to talk to yourself, it will be much harder to communicate with others. The more capable a person is of being alone, the better he or she is at facing and understanding difficulties, and the better he or she is at getting along with others. Because you can instantly change your perspective and put yourself in the other person's shoes.

2. Love sports

A study by the Eastern Ontario Research Center found that people who exercised twice a week for 10 weeks performed better in social, intellectual and athletic areas.

Their appearance and self-esteem are also relatively stronger. Best of all, the immediate, endorphin-filled rush of positivity that comes with exercise is more important than the physical changes that make them more confident, and confidence is the key to inner strength.

3Experience despair

To experience despair means to have gone through this period of time. Maybe you have never despaired, which doesn’t mean you are not strong, but you are definitely not as strong as those who have experienced despair. A life without despair is an imperfect life. Despair may be emotional, career, or unfathomable loneliness, etc.

A strong person is not determined by what he conquers, but by what he can endure. For some things, only by experiencing them can you understand the truth behind them and the true meaning of life. Despair is not terrible, what is terrible is the loss of courage and passion. Experience despair, but don't be consumed by despair. On the contrary, you must overcome it, just as you overcome darkness and welcome light.

4. Love life

Romain Rolland wrote in "The Life of Michelangelo": "There is only one kind of heroism in life, and that is to love life after recognizing the truth of life." Bad things in life are always happening, but there are still many ways to solve difficulties. Never forget to love life, broaden your horizons, and pursue truth, goodness and beauty. All the troubles in life will follow us forever, no more and no less, but loving life can make a person more rational and calm in analyzing and dealing with these problems.

5. Learn to say no

The harder it is for you to say no, the more likely you are to feel stressed, burned out, and even depressed, according to a study from the University of California, San Francisco. Mentally strong people know that saying no is healthy, and they express it clearly and with foresight.

Mentally strong people avoid using words like “I don’t think I can” or “I’m not sure” when they should say no. They say no confidently because they know that turning down a new commitment respects an existing commitment and gives them the opportunity to successfully complete the existing task. Mentally strong people also know how to achieve self-control through self-rejection. They delay gratification to avoid the harm that impulsive behavior can cause.

6. Stay confident

“Whether you think you can or you think you can’t—you’re right.” —Henry Ford

Mentally strong people understand what Ford meant when he said this: Your thoughts have a huge influence on your ability to succeed. This concept is not just a motivational tool—it’s a fact. A new study from the University of Melbourne shows that confident people are more likely to get further promotions and salary increases than those who lack confidence. True self-confidence is self-evident, as opposed to false self-confidence that hides insecurity. Mentally strong people are able to handle doubts and tough problems because their confidence inspires others to help them succeed.

7. Self-control

To be mentally strong, you can engage in long-term mental training, and consider training your self-control as a particularly important part. Not only is it about controlling your emotions, but also controlling your behavior. If you learn to control yourself, then the interference of others on you will definitely be limited. Do what you feel is right, not just what you want to do. Never surf the Internet when you should be studying, never make excuses to go on a date when you should be working hard, and never shirk your responsibilities when you should be responsible. Be strong inside and be yourself.

8. Have faith

If we want to withstand all the pressures of life and all the interference from the outside world, without firm beliefs we will definitely not be able to resist the various impacts of the social environment on us. If you want to become a strong person inside, first find a belief that you can trust to the end, and then base everything you do on this belief/faith. Don't listen to the instigation of others, stick to your goal and don't waver. Then you will definitely be a strong person inside.
