What is thread rhinoplasty

What is thread rhinoplasty

The nose is located in the middle of the five facial features and is a very important facial organ. We often envy the smooth, three-dimensional and upright noses of some stars on TV. Therefore, some women who love beauty hope to make their noses straighter and more beautiful through thread-carving rhinoplasty. The three-dimensional nose after thread-carving rhinoplasty can indeed make the facial features more three-dimensional and prominent, adding a lot to the appearance. As a commonly chosen rhinoplasty surgery, what exactly is thread lifting rhinoplasty?

What is Thread Sculpting Rhinoplasty?

Thread rhinoplasty is a procedure in which absorbable protein threads with relatively high hardness are inserted under the skin of the nose through puncture. The threads are then pulled and lifted to achieve a shaping effect, which can increase the height of the nose bridge and lengthen the tip of the nose.

Thread carving rhinoplasty is suitable for people

Thread-carving rhinoplasty is suitable for people with short nose, bulbous nose, short nose with exposed nostrils, hooked nose, arrowhead nose, and asymmetrical nose.

Hidden dangers of thread-carving rhinoplasty

Thread-lift rhinoplasty uses high-hardness absorbable sutures with bidirectional barbs. This type of suture is generally used for wound sutures in surgical operations and has the characteristic of self-anchoring. When using this thread to suture a wound, there is no need to tie a knot like when using traditional sutures. This thread is also called a sawtooth thread and is now widely used in face lift plastic surgery.

1. Defects cannot be fundamentally solved

Thread rhinoplasty is simply implanting a serrated thread into the nose, which creates traction through the barbs to lift up the tip of the nose. The tip of the nose is pulled up and becomes upturned, giving the visual illusion that the nose has become higher. In fact, only the tip of the nose is raised, and other defects still exist.

2. High failure rate and difficult repair

Because it only raises the tip of the nose, and the serrated line only has pulling ability but no supporting force, thread rhinoplasty will make the inside of your nose unsupported, and the adverse effect damage to the nasal tissue will be increased. The serrated lines will be absorbed in about 3 months. Some people will choose to do thread rhinoplasty repeatedly, and the barbs of the serrated lines will damage your nasal tissue again and again. That’s why it’s so difficult to repair a failed thread-lift rhinoplasty, because your nasal tissues have been damaged, and tissue contracture will cause the entire nose to atrophy.

3. The thread easily penetrates the skin

In regular rhinoplasty, professional doctors will choose to place cartilage at the tip of the nose to protect the skin at the tip of the nose. However, in thread rhinoplasty, the skin at the tip of the nose does not receive any protection, and the area where the suture line contacts the tip of the nose is particularly small and sharp. Over time, it will easily penetrate the skin and cause infection.

Therefore, it is not recommended to do thread-lifting rhinoplasty. Public tertiary hospitals and regular private plastic surgery hospitals will not perform thread-lifting rhinoplasty. Thread-carving rhinoplasty cannot really solve your nasal defects. Instead, it will damage your nasal tissue and cause you almost irreversible harm. Therefore, those who want to have a nose job should choose other safer and more reliable methods.
