How to clean a burnt enamel pot

Although basically most families use iron pans to cook, because when cooking, the iron in the iron pan can seep into the dishes to supplement the human body with the missing trace element iron. When making some stews, some families choose to use enamel pots because enamel pots can dissipate heat better and can fully dissipate the heat in the pot to the outside, making the food more delicious. But if the enamel pot is burnt, how should you clean it?

Precautions for enamel pots

1. Avoid empty burning and sudden changes in temperature. Before use, put oil or water in the pot and then heat it. According to the prescribed thermal stability standards, the pot can adapt to temperature differences ranging from 320 degrees Celsius to 20 degrees Celsius. If it exceeds this range, it is easy to explode and break the porcelain. First burn it empty, then pour water or oil, the temperature difference will be large and it is easy to explode.

2. When steaming food in a porcelain bowl, use a bamboo mat, otherwise the water in the bottom circle of the bowl will dry up first, causing the porcelain to fall off. If you use a flat-bottomed enamel bowl to steam food, there will be no de-glazing.

3. When heating the pot to cook pork trotters and white fungus, be careful to prevent the bottom of the pot from burning. If there is any burnt deposit, soak it in water for several hours and use bamboo strips to remove the burnt deposits. Do not use hard and sharp tools to scrape off the burnt deposits, which will damage the porcelain surface.

4. After using for a long time, dirt will appear inside the pot. You can scrub it with alkaline water and soap powder, or add water and a small amount of acetic acid to boil it. The porcelain surface will be clean without damaging it.

Note:

1. Please do not soak the newly purchased enamel pots/bowls in water for a long time, as this will easily cause the steel plate inside the stainless steel ring to rust and cause rusty water to flow out. Generally, soaking for 1-2 minutes after washing is sufficient. After cleaning, please wipe the edge of the pot/bowl dry in time to avoid rusting. After about a month, soaking will no longer be a problem.

2. When using an enamel pot/bowl for the first time, do not use high temperature or cold water to cool it down suddenly, otherwise it will easily cause the enamel layer to crack or damage the enamel layer, thereby reducing its service life.

3. Please add water, oil and other liquids before heating, and never let the soup dry up during use; also try not to use metal spatulas, spoons, etc., otherwise it will easily damage the enamel layer.

4. During use, the temperature of the enamel handle is 70 degrees.

5. Enamel is fragile and should not be dropped heavily to avoid losing the porcelain.

6. Enamel products are metal products, please do not put them in the microwave.

7. Enamel pots that need to be placed in the oven for heating must be designed with enamel handles and enamel lids. Enamel pots with bakelite handles must not be heated in the oven.

8. Enamel is not easy to turn black under normal use. If it is burned black, please use a scouring pad and detergent to scrub it. It is best not to use metal cleaning objects to scratch it, as this will cause scratches.

How to clean a burnt enamel pot?

1. Pour clean water into the pot with paste marks, add chopped onion, bring to a boil over high heat, then switch to medium heat and continue cooking for 15 minutes.

2. At this time, the onions are cooked soft, the water in the pot changes color and becomes less, put the dishcloth into the pot, and wipe the burn marks vigorously while it is still hot (for pots with serious burn marks, put more onions and wipe it very vigorously).

Tips:

This method is suitable for removing minor burnt marks. If the entire bottom of the pot is burnt enough, don't try it. Just hold a "memorial service" for the pot.

It is best to use a rough-surfaced scouring pad (rather than a sponge) for washing dishes. Be sure to wipe while the dish is hot and use force. You can't put your hands directly into the boiling water, so you have to use chopsticks or other tools to help.

After removing the paste marks, if there are still yellow marks other than paste marks inside your enamel pot, you can soak it in 84 disinfectant + clean water for 2 hours, then rinse it repeatedly with clean water to make the pot look brand new.

When cleaning enamel pots, non-stick pots and other cookware on a daily basis, it is not recommended to use cleaning steel wool, as that will damage the glaze or non-stick coating of the pot.
