Kiss the baby on the cheek?

Parents often kiss their baby's face, which is a way to express love for their baby. This is a very normal phenomenon. However, in life, many adults have a bad habit of kissing other people's babies on the face. This is also a way to express love, but this habit is not good. Adults kissing babies on the face at every turn may cause many harms, such as the following potential harms that should be paid attention to.

Kiss the baby on the cheek?

In life, when many people see a cute baby, they show their love on the baby's face by kissing the baby. However, from a health point of view, it may be difficult for babies to bear the "love" of so many people. Because, whether pinching the face or kissing the face, it may harm the baby's health. What are the specific hazards? Parents should take a good look at this.

1. Affect facial development

Although the baby's face is round and cute, if it is often kneaded, it will affect the normal development of the facial bones. Babies' bones are generally fragile, and if an adult uses a little too much force, it may really make their face crooked or uneven.

2. Affect the development of parotid gland

The parotid glands, located on both sides of the cheeks near the earlobes, together with the sublingual glands and submandibular glands, form the salivary glands and are responsible for the secretion of saliva. When the baby is about 4 months old, the salivary glands mature and saliva secretion begins to increase. However, because the baby has not yet learned to swallow and the capacity of the oral cavity is small, it is unable to properly regulate excessive saliva, and the saliva will flow out when it accumulates to a certain level.

Generally speaking, it is a normal physiological phenomenon for babies to drool, and pinching the face will aggravate this phenomenon. Relevant experts said that the baby's parotid gland is fragile. If it is kneaded frequently, it will easily cause mechanical damage to the gland, which will not only affect its development, but also increase saliva secretion and aggravate the corresponding drooling phenomenon.

3. Saliva causes inflammation

A few weeks ago, I was watching a parent-child variety show. In the show, a cute little kid was poked in the face by a branch. The adult next to him licked the child's wound with his tongue, saying that this would kill bacteria and disinfect it. Yes, saliva does have a certain disinfecting effect and can fight some bacteria, but it can also cause some damage to the baby's skin. Saliva contains some bacteria, amylase and other substances, which have a certain irritating effect on the skin. If the baby's skin is "soaked" in saliva for a long time and is not treated in time, the skin around the baby's lips will turn red and become inflamed and small red papules will appear.
