What to do if your belly and waist are dark

What to do if your belly and waist are dark

Some friends found that for some unknown reason, their stomachs and waists became black. Generally speaking, the skin color of our body is relatively uniform, but if there is a problem with the body, it is likely to cause the skin to darken. A dark belly and waist are most likely caused by qi stagnation and blood stasis. So, what should we do about the dark belly and waist caused by qi stagnation and blood stasis? Let us introduce it below.

Qi stagnation and blood stasis refers to a pathological state in which qi stagnation and blood stasis exist simultaneously. Symptoms include irritability, chest and flank distension, and chest and flank distension. In TCM theory, the flow of blood is driven by Qi. When the Qi is blocked, the flow of blood loses its momentum and the blood stagnates and stays in certain places, forming blood stasis (blood stasis).

Qi stagnation and blood stasis syndrome is a syndrome of blood fatigue caused by qi stagnation (including dysfunction or hypofunction), which leads to blockage or obstruction of blood circulation.

It is usually caused by the poor circulation of Qi, which leads to blood stasis. In this case, Qi stagnation occurs first, which leads to blood stasis. On the other hand, blood stasis such as blood leaving the meridians may block the circulation of Qi, which means blood stasis occurs first, which leads to Qi stagnation. Of course, qi stagnation and blood stasis may also occur simultaneously due to injuries such as sprains.

The causes of Qi stagnation and blood stasis syndrome are mainly related to mental emotions and liver's dysfunction of dispersing and discharging functions. Qi can circulate blood, and the circulation of blood in the human body depends on the promotion of heart Qi, the distribution of lung Qi and the release of liver Qi. Therefore, Chinese medicine believes that "Qi is the commander of blood" and "when Qi moves, blood moves." In addition, trauma such as falls, sprains and bruises can also lead to local qi blockage in the body, which in turn blocks blood flow and causes blood stasis, forming traumatic local qi stagnation and blood stasis syndrome.

Studies have found that if the human body is in a state of qi stagnation and blood stasis for a long time, tissue ischemia and cells are in a "starved" state, it will accelerate aging. Therefore, for people with qi stagnation and blood stasis constitution, promoting qi and blood circulation has the effect of preventing aging.

1) In life, you should maintain a happy mood, which will help improve the circulation of Qi and blood. Avoid the impact of negative emotions such as anger, fear, worry, etc. on the circulation of qi and blood.

2) Keep doing physical activities; the amount of exercise varies from person to person. Each exercise should reach the point where you sweat slightly.

3) Water in the body is excreted through breathing, evaporation from the skin, and urination and defecation. If water is not replenished in time, the water content in the blood may decrease, resulting in increased blood viscosity and slow blood circulation. Therefore, people with qi stagnation and blood stasis constitution should drink more water, with daily intake of no less than 2000 ml (about 8 cups of water).

4) The elderly are prone to qi stagnation and blood stasis due to the decline in the driving function of vital energy. It is advisable to stick to the "brisk walking" exercise. According to tests, the amount of oxygen inhaled during "brisk walking" is 8 times that of the human body in a quiet state, which can greatly improve the "blood stasis" condition.

5) “Cold causes stagnation of Qi” and “Cold causes blood to coagulate”. People with Qi stagnation and blood stasis constitutions should not stay in a cold environment for too long, in addition to keeping warm with clothes and quilts. The room temperature in winter should not be lower than 20 degrees Celsius. When using air conditioning to cool down in summer, it is generally advisable to keep the temperature around 25 to 26 degrees. Taking a hot water bath every day can help improve the circulation of Qi and blood throughout the body. During the investigation, it was found that the problem occurs more frequently in the elderly, because the function of promoting vital energy gradually slows down with age, and it still needs to be slowly alleviated through walking exercise. It is because the oxygen inhaled by brisk walking is beneficial to your health. This condition does not only occur in the elderly, but each of us should pay attention to it. There is nothing wrong with being in a good mood.
