Different clothes need to be stored in different ways, which women know best. Clothes made of materials such as cotton, silk or fiber have different storage requirements. For some high-end clothing, the storage method is very important, otherwise it is easy to get moldy due to moisture and other reasons. However, if it is due to the weather, mildew stains on clothes are very distressing, so you need to learn more about simple methods to remove mildew stains. For example, fabrics are prone to mildew in a humid environment. This mildew fungus can cause the fabric to appear gray, black, yellow, red, etc., with irregular shapes and a musty smell, and sometimes cause the fabric color to fade. Among them, plant fibers and protein fibers are most likely to produce mildew spots. Mildew stains are difficult to remove. The most effective method is to oxygen bleach the fabric and then wet wash it. Sodium hypochlorite bleach is the only bleach that can kill mildew and remove the musty smell, but it cannot be used on silk, wool, nylon or elastic fiber fabrics. Other bleaching agents, such as hydrogen peroxide or sodium perborate, can greatly reduce the mildew stains on the fiber, but will dilute its color. It should be noted that different bleaching agents should be used for different fiber types before treatment, and color fastness tests should also be conducted. If you find mildew stains on your clothes, it is safer to go to a professional laundry for treatment. * Mildew stains on linen fabrics can be cleaned with calcium chloride solution. *The stains on wool fabrics can also be cleaned with mustard solution or borax solution (add two tablespoons of mustard or two tablespoons of borax to a bucket of water). * You can also wipe with 5% ammonia or turpentine, and then wash with water to remove. *Silk clothes can be washed with citric acid and then rinsed with cold water. * For mildew stains on silk clothing, apply 5% light ammonia water, wait for 1-2 minutes, and then wash with water. If it is white silk, rub it with 50% alcohol. *Synthetic fiber clothing can be washed with 50% alcohol and 5% ammonia water, then rinsed. *Leather clothing can be rubbed with a towel or cotton cloth dipped in soap or detergent, then dipped in clean water. Just rub it. * Use 2% soap alcohol solution (add a handful of soft soap flakes to 250 grams of alcohol and stir evenly) to wipe, then use 3-5% sodium hypochlorite or hydrogen peroxide to wipe, and finally wash. This method is limited to white clothes, and the old stains can be soaked in the solution for 1 hour. * Soak the clothes contaminated by mildew in strong soapy water, take them out with the soapy water, and put them in the sun for a while, repeat the soaking several times, and rinse them with clean water after the mildew is removed. * For mildew spots on clothes, you can first expose them to sunlight, then use a brush to clean the mildew, then wash them with alcohol, or rub them with mung bean sprouts. * For cotton fabrics with mildew spots, you can first air them in a ventilated place, and then use a brush to brush off the mildew spots after they are dry. * Mildew spots on woolen clothes can be brushed with high-quality gasoline. After the gasoline evaporates, put a damp cloth on the clothes and iron them to restore the appearance of the wool. * Mildew spots on satin can be gently wiped with flannel or a new towel. For larger spots, you can spray ammonia on the silk and then iron them flat with an iron. For white mildew spots, you can gently wipe them with alcohol. Mildew spots on chemical fiber fabrics can be brushed with a brush dipped in strong soapy water and then wiped with water. * Linen fabrics can be brushed with calcium chloride solution and then with light salt. Old mildew spots on wool and silk fabrics can also be washed with 10% citric acid solution. |
