My stomach hurts and I have diarrhea

My stomach hurts and I have diarrhea

Sometimes, we can judge what disease we have by the symptoms reflected by our body. Some people believe that intermittent stomach pain and diarrhea are caused by stomach problems. Although it cannot be said to be wrong, it is not very accurate either. Because of this symptom, you may have gastroenteritis. Below we will introduce to you the main symptoms of gastroenteritis.

symptom

The main symptoms are nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, fever, etc. In severe cases, it can lead to dehydration, electrolyte imbalance, shock, etc. Patients often present with nausea and vomiting first, followed by diarrhea, which may occur 3-5 times a day or even for dozens of days. The stools are mostly watery, dark yellow or green, and have a foul odor, and may be accompanied by abdominal cramps, fever, body aches, and other symptoms.

Clinical manifestations

(1) Gastrointestinal symptoms: Nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain and diarrhea are the main symptoms of this disease.

(2) Systemic symptoms: Generally, systemic symptoms are mild. Severe patients may have fever, dehydration, acidosis, shock, etc., and may occasionally present with acute upper gastrointestinal bleeding.

(3) Physical signs: There may be no physical signs in early or mild cases. During physical examination, there is mild tenderness in the upper abdomen or around the umbilicus, and bowel sounds are often significantly hyperactive.

(4) Routine stool examination and stool culture;

(5) The white blood cell count may be normal or abnormal.

Treatments for gastroenteritis

(1) General

Treatment: Rest in bed as much as possible and take glucose-electrolyte solution orally to replenish fluid loss. If vomiting persists or dehydration is obvious, intravenous supplementation of 5%-10% glucose saline and other relevant electrolytes is required. Encourage a light liquid or semi-liquid diet to prevent dehydration or treat mild dehydration.

(2) Symptomatic treatment: Antiemetics can be injected if necessary, for example, intramuscular injection of chlorpromazine 25-100 mg/day. Antispasmodics: such as Belladonna 8n 11 times, 3 times a day. Antidiarrheal drugs: such as Smecta, 1 bag each time, 2-3 times a day.

(3) Antimicrobial treatment: The therapeutic effect of antibiotics on this disease is controversial. For infectious diarrhea, targeted antibiotics can be appropriately selected, such as berberine 0.3g orally, 3 times a day or gentamicin 80,000U orally, 3 times a day. However, the abuse of antibiotics should be prevented.
