What are the causes of skin pain

Skin pain is caused by a variety of skin diseases. Skin pain can be judged as different in nature and caused by different reasons. Common ones include swollen lymph nodes, herpes on the skin, damage to the skin surface or internal factors. All of these may cause indirect skin pain. As a patient, you must pay attention to it in normal times, go to the hospital in time to find out the cause, and choose the appropriate method of treatment.

Skin pain is mostly caused by skin diseases. The nature of the skin disease can be determined based on other symptoms associated with the pain.

1. If there is local skin pain or accompanied by local lymph node enlargement, and then 1-3 days later, dense clusters of millet-sized blisters occur at the painful area, the blister fluid is clear and gradually becomes turbid, and several groups of blisters are often arranged in a band-like shape along the cutaneous nerves, then herpes zoster should be considered.

2. If skin pain occurs in winter and on exposed parts such as hands, feet, and face, and is initially pale and numb, and then develops into edema or cyanosis to form bruises, it may be frostbite.

3. If the skin pain occurs at the point where the sole of the foot touches the sole of the shoe or at the fingers, toes, pressure and friction areas, and the painful area has bean-sized or pea-sized, light yellow to dark yellow, conical keratin hyperplasia, with its base slightly higher than the skin surface, smooth surface with obvious skin wrinkles, firm texture and slightly transparent. Generally, there may be several skin lesions, which occur symmetrically. People with such symptoms are called "meat thorns" or "corns" in traditional Chinese medicine.

4. If the skin pain occurs in winter, and multiple shallow cracks appear on the fingers, palms, heels, soles, outer edges of the feet where the skin stratum corneum is thick or frequently rubbed, and the skin is dry and rough, with the cracks sometimes reaching deep into the dermis and subcutaneous tissue, this condition is usually chapped hands and feet.
