There is a protruding bone under the ankle

The phenomenon of a protruding bone under the ankle is consistent with the symptoms of a dorsal ganglion cyst. Although it is a dorsal ganglion cyst, the location of the ankle and the instep may cause differences in judgment. We need to first have a full understanding of the symptoms of instep ganglion cyst, and then make a comprehensive judgment based on our own situation, so as to determine the cause. Next, let’s take a look at the instep ganglion cyst.

A ganglion cyst is a cystic tumor that occurs in the tendon sheath of a joint and contains thick, colorless, transparent, orange, or light yellow mucus. This disease is more common in young and middle-aged people, more common in women than in men. It is most common on the dorsal side of the wrist, followed by the radial side of the palmar surface of the wrist. It can also occur on the palm, fingers and dorsum of the foot. A few cases occur near the knee and elbow joints. It is a disease caused by degeneration of the connective tissue around the joint capsule.

A ganglion cyst is a cystic tumor that occurs in the tendon sheath of a joint, caused by degeneration of the connective tissue around the joint capsule. The cyst contains colorless, transparent, orange or light yellow thick mucus and is common on the dorsum of the foot. It usually occurs in young women. The treatment of tendon sheath cyst adopts the principle of Chinese medicine dialectical treatment and combination of attack and supplement. On the one hand, it can dredge the meridians, relax the blood vessels, regulate qi and activate blood circulation; on the other hand, it can repair the damaged fascia. The tendon cyst patch has the effect of treating both the symptoms and the root cause, strengthening the body and consolidating the foundation. It has a definite effect and can cure the disease thoroughly.

In traditional Chinese medicine, this disease is called tendon accumulation or tendon tumor. It is believed that it is caused by excessive movement of the affected joints, repeated weight bearing, prolonged standing, etc., which lead to strain on the meridians and tendons, poor circulation of qi and blood, and stagnation of tendons and veins, causing the disease.

Causes of Disease

1. Modern medicine believes that ganglion cysts are caused by factors such as local degeneration of connective tissue. Currently, most people believe that ganglion cysts are caused by degeneration of connective tissue on the joint capsule, ligament, and tendon sheath due to local malnutrition, resulting in cysts. Some cases are related to trauma.

2. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that trauma or overwork may damage the Shaoyang Triple Burner Meridian of the Hand, causing dysfunction of transportation and transformation; or damage the fascia, causing stagnation of Qi and blood. Whether it is dysfunctional transportation or stagnation of Qi and blood, it can cause fluid to accumulate in the joints and meridians, thus forming cysts.

3. Western medicine believes that this disease is mostly related to chronic strain, mechanical stimulation, trauma, etc. of the joints or tendon sheaths. However, Chinese medicine believes that tendon sheath cysts are caused by trauma to the fascia, where evil qi resides, and the movement of qi is blocked, causing water to accumulate in the joints and meridians. It is mostly caused by excessive movement of the affected joints, repeated weight-bearing, prolonged standing, etc., which injure the meridians and tendons, resulting in poor circulation of Qi and fluid and stagnation of the tendons and veins. Therefore, the most commonly used method for treating ganglion cysts is the tendon cyst patch which is designed to activate blood circulation and remove blood stasis and is targeted at the cause of the ganglion cysts.

4. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that this disease is caused by trauma to the fascia, where evil spirits reside, stagnation of metabolism, and accumulation of fluid in the joints and meridians. It is mostly caused by excessive movement of the affected joints, repeated weight-bearing, prolonged standing, etc., which injure the meridians and tendons, resulting in poor circulation of Qi and fluid and stagnation of the tendons and veins.

5. During the examination, a round mass with a smooth appearance and clear boundaries can be felt. The surface skin can be pushed and there is no adhesion. Most cysts have high tension and are firm lumps, while a few are soft but all have a cystic feeling. The cyst has a fixed base and little movement. Ultrasound examination can help determine the nature of the mass
