When babies are very young, they will wear diapers to sleep. But when they reach a certain age, they can no longer wear diapers to sleep because it is bad for the baby's skin, and wearing diapers too much can easily lead to addiction. Babies will inevitably wet the bed if they sleep without diapers. For many parents, it is a very troublesome thing for the baby to wet the mattress. After all, no family washes the mattress every day. So what should you do if your mattress is wet? You spend a lot of time and money choosing the right mattress for yourself or someone you love, only to discover that someone (or a naughty pet) wets the bed. Now what? Choose one of the following methods based on what you have at home, and then follow the guide to start cleaning your mattress.1. Tools/Raw Materials Sponge, borax, vacuum cleaner Sponge, rag Water, vinegar or rubbing alcohol Measuring cup, funnel, spray bottle, spoon, vacuum cleaner Method 1: Dried urine stains 1Wet the stained area but do not saturate it. Moisture will extend the area of the urine stain. You just need to dilute the flavor and strength of the stain. 2 Sprinkle a large amount of borax. The borax will neutralize the urine odor. Make sure to cover all areas that were stained with urine. There is still no consensus on whether borax is toxic. Just make sure not to ingest the borax or get it on your skin. It can irritate your skin just like baking soda 3. Rub the borax into the mattress. Mix the borax into the urine stain. It should appear to penetrate the surface. If you are concerned about the toxicity of borax, wear rubber gloves. 4 Allow the bed to air dry thoroughly. If possible, dry the mattress in the sun, or air dry it in a well-ventilated area away from moisture. Run a fan on the area, or open doors and windows. 5. Use a vacuum cleaner to remove the powder. Depending on how much borax you use, you may or may not have residual powder left when you wipe it off. Even if your mattress doesn't appear to have any residue on it, you can still vacuum it just in case. Put the mattress back on the bed. That's it! If you're worried about this problem happening again, take some precautions.
1. Try to absorb the urine as much as possible. Carefully blot the area several times with a sponge. If the sponge becomes soaked, you can either replace it with a new one or wring it out before using it. 2Wet the urine stain. This will dilute the urine, allowing you to absorb more urine. Repeat until the urine smell is light enough to be ignored. You can use rubbing alcohol to kill bacteria in urine, and another suggestion is to use vinegar. 3 Allow the mattress to air dry thoroughly. Turn on the fan and open the windows to allow sunlight to shine on the part of the mattress that was stained by urine. Method 3: All Stains 1. Prepare all the utensils. You will need a spray bottle, measuring cup, funnel, and spoon. Prepare the following materials, have your children stay in the living room, and start making the cleaning solution. 237 ml hydrogen peroxide (3%) You can find hydrogen peroxide in brown bottles in most pharmacies or stores in the first aid section. 3 tablespoons (45 grams) baking soda
2 Pour the ingredients into a spray bottle and mix together. Only prepare this cleaner if you want to spray your mattress right away; this mixture needs to be used immediately to be most effective. Do not attempt to store remaining solution; it will seep out of the bottle. Add a drop of dishwashing liquid at the end. Allow the baking soda to completely dissolve before adding the dishwashing liquid to create a foamy solution. 3Shake the bottle and spray onto the stained area. Once you've shaken the mixture well, immediately spray liberally onto the stained area. You should see the stain lift from the mattress and disappear within 5 to 10 minutes. Turn on the fan to dry the mattress area and you're done! If there is a layer of baking soda left on the mattress, you can simply wipe it off or vacuum it away. Baking soda will not leave marks on your mattress. Tips: 1. Most pet supply stores sell special solutions for cleaning pet urine. 2. If your mattress happens to be covered with a Tempurpedic™ waterproof mattress protector, please note that although this mattress protector is of very good quality (and very comfortable to sleep on), it is not very durable and should not be washed in the washing machine with the sheets. Doing so will only eventually cause rips and wear and tear in your mattress protector, which can lead to leaks and greatly reduce its effectiveness. Instead, you should clean the stained area by hand or check carefully for leaks. If not properly maintained, it will lose its effectiveness in just two years. 3. Use a waterproof mattress protector to prevent the mattress from getting stained in the future, and it can also protect the user from mold or fungus growth on the mattress. 4. The remaining borax can be used to improve laundry efficiency. |
