Pu'er tea storage humidity and temperature

Pu'er tea storage humidity and temperature

The storage conditions for tea are actually very demanding, and improper storage can cause the tea to become moldy. Pu'er tea is usually placed in a ventilated place and the temperature is kept between 20 and 30 degrees Celsius. Not only that, Pu'er tea also has high requirements for humidity. If the humidity is too high, the tea leaves will become damp, and damp tea leaves are generally unusable. Therefore, it is most appropriate to keep the humidity between 50% and 70%, which is the best storage condition for tea.

The temperature is around 23 degrees and the humidity is 50%-70%, which is actually an environment that people feel comfortable in. The humidity should not be too high, nor should it be too dry. If the humidity is too high, the tea leaves will easily deteriorate and grow mold; if it is too dry, the tea leaves will transform too slowly. Do not change the temperature suddenly. If the temperature in the warehouse is too high or the temperature difference changes too suddenly, it will affect the liveliness of the taste of the tea soup. Even if the temperature in the warehouse is too high and becomes stuffy, the original raw tea will be transformed into cooked Pu'er.

Physical conditions for Pu'er tea storage:

1. Circulating air. There is more oxygen in the circulating air, which is conducive to the reproduction of some microorganisms in the tea leaves, thus accelerating the changes of the tea leaves. However, Pu'er tea cannot be hung on the balcony. If the tea is placed like this, the tea aroma and tea flavor will be blown away, and it will feel bland when you drink it. Therefore, there must be moderate air circulation, but it should not be placed at the air outlet. In addition, be careful not to have any peculiar smell in the surrounding environment, otherwise the tea will change its taste. Therefore, it should not be placed in the kitchen or other environments with life or industrial odors.

2. Constant temperature . The temperature of Pu'er tea should not be too high or too low. The temperature should be based on the local environment. There is no need to deliberately create the temperature artificially. Normal indoor temperature is fine. It is best to keep it between 20 and 30 degrees Celsius all year round. Too high a temperature will accelerate the fermentation and sourness of the tea. Relatively speaking, the changes of Pu'er tea in spring, summer and autumn are faster than those in winter. No matter what time it is, Pu'er tea should not be exposed to the sun and it is better to keep it in a cool place.

3. Moderate humidity. Good Pu'er tea must be stored in a dry warehouse. Dry warehouse means it is stored in a dry environment and avoid moisture. A too dry environment will slow down the aging of Pu'er tea, so there must be a certain amount of humidity. In a drier environment, you can place a small cup of water next to the tea leaves to slightly increase the humidity in the air. However, an overly humid environment can cause Pu'er tea to change rapidly, and this change is often "mildew", making the tea undrinkable. Humidity should be controlled artificially, and the annual average humidity should not be higher than 75%. Due to the warm marine climate in the coastal areas, the humidity will be higher than 75% during the rainy season, so more attention should be paid to opening windows in time for ventilation and dissipation of moisture.
