What is lactose intolerance

Lactose intolerance is very common in daily life. It not only causes great harm to the health of mothers, but also seriously affects their normal life and work. Therefore, it is particularly important to understand relevant knowledge and find scientific and effective treatments. However, in daily life, many people do not know what lactose intolerance is. This is a huge misunderstanding and must be paid attention to.

1Lactose is the main sugar found in dairy products (including breast milk). After lactose enters the human body, it is broken down into glucose and galactose by lactase in the small intestinal mucosa. Galactose is an essential substance for the baby's brain development and is closely related to the rapid growth of the baby's brain. The lactic acid produced by lactose fermentation in the intestines can improve the absorption and utilization of mineral elements such as calcium, phosphorus, potassium and iron in food. Lactose intolerance usually refers to a disease with a series of clinical symptoms mainly characterized by abdominal distension, diarrhea, and abdominal pain due to the lack of lactase in the small intestinal mucosa, which leads to impaired digestion and absorption of lactose in milk. The pathogens that cause diarrhea can destroy the lactase on the small intestinal mucosa, resulting in lactose intolerance; and lactose intolerance can cause diarrhea and cause persistent diarrhea. In addition, allergy to milk can also destroy the lactase on the small intestinal mucosa, causing lactose intolerance.

2 Babies with lactose intolerance should not drink breast milk as breast milk contains a high level of lactose. You can choose lactose-free infant formula or soy milk powder. Many brands now have cow's milk powder or soy milk powder specially made for this type of infants and young children. You can choose according to your child's taste. After the baby's condition improves, gradually switch to normal milk powder.

3 Lactose intolerance is non-infectious diarrhea caused by low secretion of lactase, which cannot completely digest and decompose lactose in breast milk or cow's milk. It is also called lactase deficiency. You can try adding Sufra Lactase to milk to supplement lactase and relieve diarrhea problems.
