Can it be placed in the bedroom?

Because of its beautiful appearance, many people like to keep Syngonium in the bedroom. Although Syngonium is poisonous, as long as you don't pick it and don't touch it with bare skin, you generally won't be poisoned. If you are poisoned by Syngonium, you should go to the hospital immediately for examination and treatment. Drinking more water can also excrete the venom out of the body. Therefore, Syngonium can be kept in the bedroom.

1. Can it be placed in the bedroom?

Syngonium can be grown in the bedroom, but you must be careful if you do so. If there are children at home, you must not grow it. Also, be careful not to pick the Syngonium to eat, and don't touch it with bare skin. If there is really poisoning, you need to go to the hospital for emergency treatment immediately, and then drink more water and excrete more, which can also expel some of the venom from the body. When placing it in the bedroom, don't be afraid that Syngonium will emit toxic gases. If you take good care of it and manage water and fertilizer well, it can also be a pleasing scenery.

2. Introduction to the toxicity of Syngonium

After reading books on flowers, I found that Syngonium is indeed toxic to a certain extent, and its toxicity is mainly manifested in its rhizomes and juice. We all know that there are actually many kinds of poisonous plants, but their toxicity is not strong, so they are generally not a big deal. Is Syngonium very toxic? The answer is that it will not kill people, but it will cause certain harm. Generally, after eating syngonium, you will feel a burning sensation in the throat, numbness in the mouth and tongue, ulcers in the oral mucosa, and in severe cases, edema, drooling, and difficulty opening the mouth.

3. Matters Needing Attention in Bedroom Breeding

Although this plant is somewhat toxic, it is very capable of digesting formaldehyde and benzene, so Syngonium is still very suitable for growing in the bedroom. Syngonium likes a cool environment and does not require much light, so it is very suitable to be grown in the bedroom. The shape of the Syngonium is very beautiful and its decorative effect is excellent. It can be used as indoor green decoration or hung in the air as a hanging potted plant.

The difference between Syngonium and Pothos

1. Differences in varieties

In plant classification, Syngonium and Pothos belong to the same Araceae order. Not only that, they also belong to the same family. Although the order and family are the same, the genera and species are different, namely Syngonium and Pothos, which shows that there are still obvious differences between the two.

Second, the difference in morphological characteristics

The young leaves of Syngonium are different from the old leaves. In other words, they have dimorphic leaves. The new leaves are shaped like arrows or halberds and are lighter in color, often light green. The old leaves are palm-shaped or shield-shaped, and some varieties are even butterfly-wing-shaped. Its leaves are relatively thick and dark green. The color of the leaf veins is lighter than the surrounding mesophyll, often yellow-white, which results in uneven color of the entire leaf. The leaf shapes of different types of Syngonium are quite varied.

The petiole of the green radish is relatively thick and has wide grooves on the ventral side. The leaves are broadly ovate, thin, with neat edges and no teeth, and the petiole is deeply cordate. The leaves that are growing well and healthily are emerald green in color. The color of the veins is similar to that of the surrounding leaves, with no obvious difference. The entire leaf is uniform in color, and the surface of the leaf is smooth and shiny.

3. Different growth environment requirements

A high temperature and humid environment is most conducive to the growth of Syngonium, and the most suitable temperature is approximately between 22 degrees Celsius and 30 degrees Celsius. Syngonium is not cold-resistant. Its growth is inhibited at lower temperatures (around 15 degrees Celsius), and it completely stops growing at around 10 degrees Celsius. The leaves will be frostbitten at temperatures below 5 degrees Celsius.

Pothos also likes an environment with high temperature and high humidity. Unlike Syngonium, it is a shade-loving plant and is more sensitive to direct sunlight. It is not as adaptable to light as Syngonium. Therefore, scattered light can be used during cultivation. The green radish requires a lot of water, so it can be grown entirely using hydroponic methods to maintain its good growth.
