Tips on dental hygiene

With the gradual improvement of living standards, people eat more and more types of food, and the food is also very refined. However, the number of people suffering from a disease is still on the rise. When a problem occurs, it will cause great pain to the patient and will also have a certain impact on physical health. For the sake of dental health, you must take good care of your teeth and oral cavity in your life, and seek timely treatment when a problem occurs.

1. How to brush your teeth more scientifically?

The most scientific way to brush your teeth is the one recommended by the American Dental Association: the bus brushing method.

Key points:

1. Brush teeth in groups, brush only 2 to 3 teeth each time, brush back and forth 10 times or more; then change a group to brush teeth;

2. The bristles should be at an angle of 45-60 degrees to the teeth;

At the same time, parents should supervise their children to brush their teeth once in the morning and once in the evening every day. And rinse your mouth with warm water.

two. Which toothpaste to choose? How much dosage?

Children need to use fluoride toothpaste from the age of 3 after they learn to rinse their mouths independently; fluoride toothpaste can effectively prevent children from tooth decay. However, parents are requested to supervise their children when brushing their teeth and rinsing their mouths to prevent them from accidentally swallowing toothpaste.

Babies aged 3-6 years old should use a pea-sized amount of fluoride toothpaste; babies under three years old should use a rice-sized amount of fluoride toothpaste.

three. What should you eat less and what should you eat more.

Eat less hard foods such as nuts. Because these foods will increase surface wear.

Dark-colored foods, such as coffee, strong tea, chocolate and other food pigments will remain on the surface of the teeth, causing pigment deposition on the tooth surface.

Eating more foods with crude fiber, such as celery, can help clean teeth; mushrooms can inhibit dental plaque;

You can also eat some of the following: onions, which can eliminate streptococci that cause tooth decay; mint, which can relieve gum inflammation and swelling and reduce the growth of oral bacteria.

Four. Regular dental check-ups

Young children and the elderly need to have their teeth checked every three months or six months so that cavities can be discovered and repaired in time.

It is best for adults to have a dental check-up once a year to remove tartar. Some parents may think that dental tartar is not a big deal and does not cause any pain or itching.

In fact, this is not the case. My dentist told me that there was a patient who had been careless about dental tartar. When the dental tartar accumulated to a certain level, he developed periodontal disease and his teeth became loose. He had to have fillings and orthodontic treatments, which took more than a year and required multiple courses of treatment. The cost was too high.

five. What is bleeding gums?

Many people mistakenly believe that bleeding gums are caused by internal heat. For example, as a Cantonese, I always think that drinking herbal tea can reduce internal heat.

In fact, bleeding gums are more of an oral disease, which is gingivitis caused by dental plaque and tartar. Some people are more afraid to brush their teeth the more painful it is, which leads to more and more deposition of dental plaque and tartar. Therefore, once gingivitis occurs, not only should timely treatment be required, but also brushing teeth correctly!

six. Can I brush my teeth immediately after a meal?

Parents who have this habit, please stop this behavior!

Just after eating, a large amount of acidic food will adhere to the surface of the teeth, making the enamel on the surface of the teeth soft. If you brush your teeth immediately, it will damage the enamel. Therefore, rinse your mouth after eating and brush your teeth half an hour later.
