How to relieve vomiting after taking cefuroxime

How to relieve vomiting after taking cefuroxime

Cephalosporin is an antibiotic that can achieve the best pharmacological effect in modern medicine, so its frequency of appearance and use in daily life is also relatively high. Since everyone's physical fitness is different, their sensitivity to cephalosporin is also different. Cephalosporin contains a large amount of hormones. People with weaker gastrointestinal systems will be irritated by hair, resulting in vomiting. How to relieve the vomiting problem caused by taking ceftriaxone?

This is most likely a side effect of the drug, or gastrointestinal irritation. You should stop taking the drug promptly, observe carefully, and see a doctor for examination if necessary.

Several principles should be followed when using cephalosporins:

Principle 1

Do not abuse cephalosporins because they have so many advantages, so patients and doctors favor them. When a patient is infected and has a fever, no matter what kind of infection it is, cephalosporins will be used immediately. In particular, the third-generation cephalosporin is produced in large quantities in our country and is quite cheap, so its abuse was very common in the past. In the past five years, many negative bacteria such as Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae that are difficult to treat with third-generation cephalosporins have appeared in my country. The extended-spectrum β-lactamases produced by these bacteria can destroy cephalosporins and cause drug resistance. In Shanghai, the proportion of bacteria resistant to third-generation cephalosporins, such as Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae, has reached 10%-40%. The extensive abuse of cephalosporins has greatly weakened the good antibacterial effect of this type of drug, making infections caused by these drug-resistant bacteria difficult to treat clinically.

Principle 2

If it can be taken orally, ... and if it is given intravenously, it can be given by drip. Now many patients will actively ask doctors to give them intravenous injections of cephalosporin in order to recover as soon as possible. This is inappropriate. Whether to use cephalexin and whether to give it intravenously should be decided by the doctor. When using cephalosporins, you must make a choice between mild and severe infections. If the infection is relatively mild, choose oral administration. Cephalosporins of all generations have oral preparations. If the infection is more severe, intravenous administration can be used. Usually intravenous drip is used, and push injection is used as little as possible. Why is this so? This is because cephalosporins can also produce adverse reactions. If a patient has a severe allergic reaction or other serious adverse reactions to it, if a push injection is used, the drug will quickly enter the blood and the doctor will not be able to stop administering the drug. When using drip infusion, even if the drip is fast, if the patient has an adverse reaction, the drip speed can be immediately slowed down, or the tube can even be clamped immediately to stop the medication. Allow doctors to seize the opportunity to rescue.

Principle 3

Cannot be mixed with other drugs. In principle, antibiotics and any other drugs cannot be mixed together at will, even if they are both antibiotics. For example, if a patient is receiving intravenous drips of two antibiotics, cephalosporin and gentamicin, the two drugs cannot be put into the same bottle for drip at the same time. Because various antimicrobial drugs have different physical and chemical characteristics, when they are added together, to the naked eye, the color does not change, and there may not be any precipitation. But in fact, they may have interacted with each other, reducing their respective antimicrobial effects, and may even produce new compounds that are harmful to the human body. Therefore, when using antibiotics, they must be administered separately and two drugs must never be placed in the same container at the same time.

Principle 4

Do not use it before or after drinking, as it can easily cause shock, fainting, and even life-threatening for the elderly.
