Behaviors that harm the liver

Since when, liver disease has become a disease that people fear. It seems that many people are terrified when they hear about liver disease. People often feel that liver disease is sometimes really hard to prevent. Experts have summarized for us several typical behaviors that damage the liver, such as sitting for long periods of time, holding urine, lack of sleep, excessive drinking, taking medication indiscriminately, not liking to eat breakfast, overeating, being easily angry, liking to eat greasy food, etc. Some seemingly insignificant things in life may cause more damage to your liver than you can imagine.

1. Frequently holding urine

Generally speaking, you should urinate when you feel the urge to defecate, but sometimes you may be too busy at work or have been sleeping in and want to hold your urine, which can affect your liver health over time. Toxins can be excreted from the body through urination. If you hold your urine, toxins will be retained in the body and liver poisoning will occur.

2. Taking medicine randomly

There is nothing wrong with taking medicine when you are sick, but consider that medicine is partially toxic, and taking too much medicine can cause great harm to the body. Drugs can damage the liver during metabolism and may even cause drug-induced hepatitis. Taking medicine in this way is not saving lives, but hurting them.

3. Overeating

Eating is meant to protect your body, but if you eat incorrectly it will harm your body. You need to be more careful about overeating. Eating too much will increase the burden on your stomach and intestines and damage your liver. The liver can help people fight free radicals, excrete toxins and purify the blood. When you overeat, more and more free radicals will appear in your body, the excretion of toxins will be hindered, and liver damage will become more and more serious.

4. Eating processed foods

Many processed foods contain too many preservatives and pigments. The addition of these substances makes the food look good, but it can be harmful to the body when consumed. These preservatives and pigments contain substances that are difficult to be broken down by the body. Once entering the body, they will increase the liver's detoxification burden, easily damage the liver, and induce liver disease.

5. Moldy Food

During the diet, you should also avoid consuming moldy food. Some elderly people think it is a pity to throw away moldy food, so they can just wash it and eat it. However, people might not realize that these moldy foods contain aflatoxin, which is a risk factor for a high incidence of liver cancer. Long-term intake can cause severe damage to the liver and can easily cause chronic poisoning and induce cancer.

6. Alcoholism

Although drinking is an indispensable way of socializing during social events, it is best not to drink if possible and never drink excessively. Alcoholism can cause serious damage to the liver and over time can lead to alcoholic liver disease. If not controlled, it can even develop into alcoholic hepatitis, alcoholic cirrhosis, liver cancer, etc. So, if you can quit drinking, please do so.
