Bad saliva is a very common condition in daily life. It not only causes great harm to the patient's physical health, but also seriously affects their normal life and work. Therefore, it is particularly important to understand relevant knowledge and find scientific and effective treatment methods. Many people do not know how to treat themselves. In fact, they need to seek medical treatment in time and follow the doctor's advice to choose the appropriate treatment method. According to traditional Chinese medicine, dry mouth is mostly caused by liver and kidney yin deficiency and lack of body fluid, or by excessive heat that damages body fluid and burns it. People in dry climates are generally more likely to experience dry mouth in autumn and winter. Sudden dry mouth may be caused by a cold. The most common clinical causes of dry mouth are: 1. Oral diseases that lead to poor alignment of the upper and lower teeth, deviated nasal septum, enlarged inferior turbinate, nasal polyps and other diseases make it impossible to breathe normally, and the need to breathe through the mouth frequently can easily cause dry mouth. 2. Gastrointestinal diseases such as chronic gastritis, peptic ulcer, etc. can cause dry mouth, accompanied by bitter taste or bad breath. People who drink excessively or snore while sleeping are also prone to dry mouth symptoms. 3. People who suffer from long-term vitamin B2 deficiency will experience dry mouth, accompanied by symptoms such as ulcers at the corners of the mouth, dry throat, and tongue ulcers. In addition, long-term mental and psychological stress, neurasthenia and other conditions can cause the body's parasympathetic nerves to be in an excited state, and salivary gland secretion decreases, leading to dry mouth. Actively treating the primary disease, drinking plenty of water, maintaining appropriate indoor humidity, and eating more foods that can reduce heat and relieve fire can help improve symptoms. Bad breath may also be caused by heat accumulation in the lungs, spleen, and stomach or indigestion. The causes mainly include two aspects: 1. It is related to weakened gastrointestinal function. Food stays in the gastrointestinal tract for too long, causing abnormal fermentation. 2. Closely related to oral diseases, such as caries, periodontitis, gingivitis, etc. It is generally recommended to go to the hospital's oral department for examination first. If it is caused by gingivitis, periodontitis or pharyngitis, the bad breath symptoms will naturally disappear after the primary disease is eliminated; if it is caused by weakened gastrointestinal motility, medication is needed to promote gastrointestinal motility while strengthening the adjustment of diet structure and eating habits. At the same time, be sure to brush your teeth every morning and evening to maintain oral health |
