As a person from Northeast China, I like winter very much, because what I fear most are all kinds of insects. Insects cannot survive outdoors in the Northeast in winter. Although it is very cold, I don’t live in fear all day long. What I fear most is some insects falling from the trees. The blue-thorn moth is a very common insect, generally more common in Guangxi and Guangdong. It is very harmful to vegetation such as forests and fruit trees. What should you do if you are stung by a blue-thorn moth? 1. Bluethorn moth Latoia consocia?Walker is an insect belonging to the genus Latoia in the family Latoidae in the order Lepidoptera. It is widely distributed and occurs in all parts of Guangxi. It hosts fruit trees such as boxwood, rose, crabapple, hollyhock, peony, peony, apple, pear, peach, plum, apricot, plum, cherry, jujube, persimmon, walnut, coral, chestnut, hawthorn, and forest trees such as poplar, willow, sycamore, and elm. The larvae have a wide range of diets. In addition to harming longan and lychee, they can also harm a variety of fruit trees and forest trees such as citrus. The larvae bite the leaves of fruits and trees, causing notches. In severe cases, they often eat up the entire leaf, leaving only branches and petioles, affecting the growth and fruiting of fruit trees. The black spines on the larvae are poisonous and can cause stinging pain if they come into contact with the skin. 2. What to do if you are stung by a blue thorn moth After being stung by a blue-spurred moth, you will experience skin pain. This is because the local allergic reaction caused by the stimulation of the toxin. In this case, you can first apply dermatitis cream for external use to relieve the allergic reaction. In addition, you can drink more water, eat more fruits and vegetables to promote the excretion of toxins. In addition, you can also take promethazine. If the pain is really severe, you can take some painkillers. 3. Control methods of blue thorn moth Agricultural control Combine pruning, weeding, winter garden cleaning, loosening the soil, etc. to remove overwintering insects on branches and in weeds, and destroy the pupae cocoons underground to reduce the source of insects for the next generation. Physical prevention Taking advantage of the adult moths' habit of being attracted to light, it can be combined with the prevention and control of other pests. During the peak moth season from June to August, insect-attracting lights can be set up to lure and kill the adult moths. Chemical control For orchards with a high insect population density, during the peak hatching period of each generation of larvae, you can spray 90% crystal trichlorfon or 80% dichlorvos at a concentration of 800-1000 times, or combine it with the prevention and control of other leaf-feeding pests to implement a combined control approach. |
