How to remove potassium permanganate stain?

How to remove potassium permanganate stain?

In daily life, we often get our hands stained with potassium permanganate. If you want to remove the color of potassium permanganate, you can first use oxalic acid and soak it in water. Generally, the concentration does not need to be too high, so you can wash it off, but many people find it troublesome. In fact, we can use soapy water to wash it several times. After neutralization, the color of potassium permanganate will be a little less, but it cannot be completely removed. However, you don’t have to worry, it will generally disappear completely after a few days.

How to remove potassium permanganate stains from clothes?

If there are potassium permanganate stains on your clothes, you can use the following method to try to lighten and remove the stains:

1. When the clothes are dry, apply the original liquid of hand-washing special laundry detergent to the stain, completely cover the stain, let it stand for 5 minutes (you can gently rub it), then add laundry detergent and wash it normally;

2. If the stains cannot be removed by the above methods,

(1) Pure white cotton, linen, or polyester clothing: Add one bottle cap (40 grams) of White Clothes Stain Remover (600g specification) to every half basin of water (about 2 liters), stir well, soak the clothing in it for 30 minutes, and rinse thoroughly.

If necessary, the soaking time can be extended appropriately. If the color stain is not removed after 2 hours, take out the clothes, add white clothes stain remover into the basin (add 1 bottle cap for every half basin of water), stir well, put the clothes in and continue soaking. The cumulative soaking time should not exceed 6 hours.

(2) Colored or other white clothing made of other materials: Place the clothing in a basin with the stained area against the bottom of the basin. Use the bottle cap of Colored Stain Cleaner (600g specification) to measure 1/4 bottle cap (10g) of Colored Stain Cleaner and 1/4 bottle cap (10g) of Collar Cleaner, pour them on the stained area, cover the stain with other unstained areas of the clothing to prevent it from drying out, leave it for 2 hours, and rinse it clean. If the stain is still not removed after 2 hours, you can extend the standing time to overnight.

Note:

1. The White Clothes Color Stain Cleaner is suitable for white cotton, linen, polyester, polyester-cotton, and cotton-linen fabrics. Do not use it on colored clothes (including white stripes, white checks, and white prints), silk, wool, spandex, nylon, and other clothes that cannot be bleached with chlorine. Do not use the original solution directly.

2. Color Clothes Stain Remover is not suitable for easily faded clothes or dry-cleaned clothes. When using it, avoid contact with metal buttons, zippers, metal decorations on the clothes and avoid direct sunlight.

What to do if clothes are stained?

1. Cleaning method with a mixture of soap and alkali water. Put the dyed clothes in a basin, soak them in clean water first, and then take them out. Then soak the clothes in a freshly boiled mixture of soapy water and alkaline water for ten minutes. Finally, just rub it gently with water and the dye will be rubbed off. This will restore the clothes to their original color.

2. Cleaning method with 84 disinfectant. 84 disinfectant has bleaching properties, so it can be used to treat dyed clothes. However, because of this characteristic, this method is only suitable for dyed white clothes or very light colored clothes. The specific operation method is: put the stained clothes into a basin, pour some freshly boiled water and some 84 disinfectant (the amount of disinfectant should be determined according to the area and depth of the stained clothes), soak for 15 minutes, and then gently rub the stained area of the clothes with your hands.

3. Cleaning with hydrogen peroxide solution. Put the clothes in a basin of cold water, then add hydrogen peroxide to the basin until the ratio of hydrogen peroxide to water is close to 1:10. Soak for about 5 minutes. Simply rub the stained garment with your hands. Note: Do not use hydrogen peroxide to directly apply to the stained area of clothing. When adding hydrogen peroxide to water, try to avoid dropping it directly on clothing.

4. Cleaning method with potassium permanganate and acetic acid solution. Prepare some low concentration potassium permanganate solution and soak the dyed clothes in it. After about 15 minutes, take out the dark red clothes and rinse them with clean water. Next, prepare a small amount of low-concentration acetic acid solution and soak the clothes that have been soaked in potassium permanganate. When the clothes turn back to their original color (including the dyed areas) from dark red, take them out and wash them again with clean water. This method is very effective in removing color and will not damage the original color of the clothes.
