Salicylic acid ear drops

Salicylic acid ear drops

Salicylic acid ear drops have certain medicinal effects and also have certain side effects. However, depending on individual physical conditions, each person's situation is different. Some people may experience itching or other discomfort immediately after using the drops. Some people may not experience this problem even after taking the drops for several weeks. Therefore, we must pay attention to changes in our body when using it, and stop taking the medicine in time if we feel any discomfort.

Salicylic acid ear drops are 75% ethanol solution of salicylic acid. They have the effects of relieving itching, antiseptic, inhibiting fungal growth and dissolving skin keratin. They are mainly used to treat fungal infections in the external auditory canal and local keratin hyperplasia. The content of salicylic acid is determined by the volumetric method of sodium hydroxide titration in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia and the Chinese Hospital Preparation Standards. Because the sodium hydroxide titration solution is affected by the carbon dioxide in the air, its concentration changes. In addition, it is also affected by the carbon dioxide in the air during the titration, so the accuracy of the measurement result is not high. Therefore, ultraviolet spectrophotometry is often used to determine the content of salicylic acid in salicylic acid ear drops.

Directions:

Tilt your head to see if the ear drops can flow out first. The correct way to use ear drops: first clean the external auditory canal, such as pus, cerumen, etc., use a dry cotton ball to dry the pus in the middle ear cavity, then tilt your head to the healthy side, so that the opening of the external auditory canal of the affected ear is facing upward, and then use the ear drops. After the drops are finished, keep this position for 10-15 minutes, and then use your thumb to close and press the opening of the external auditory canal, and add pressure to the external auditory canal so that the medicine can enter the middle ear cavity. At this time, some people will feel a medicinal taste in the throat, which means that the medicine has entered the middle ear, and only in this way can it be effective. You feel blocked because the medicine accumulates in the external auditory canal and the tympanic cavity, affecting the sound conduction. Tilt your head to see if the ear drops can flow out.

suggestion:

1. Warm the ear drops with your hands or armpits for a few minutes; 2. Tilt or lean your head to one side so that your ear is facing upward; 3. Gently pull down the earlobe to expose the ear canal; 4. Squeeze out the prescribed amount of liquid; 5. If both ears are needed, switch to the other ear after 5 minutes; 6. If the manufacturer has clear recommendations, use cotton wool to plug the ear after the drops; 7. The burning or stinging sensation caused by ear drops should not last more than a few minutes; just follow the ear canal. Stay on the side of your head for one minute to allow the medicine to flow into the ear.
