Anxiety and heart rate

People often say that people who love to laugh will have good luck, and people who love to laugh will live a long life! This is because a person's mood directly affects his or her physical health. If a person is often depressed and is very irritable when doing anything, it will have a great impact on his heart over time. In severe cases, it can cause arrhythmia. A happy person will not only be healthy, but also do things smoothly.

The seven emotions can actually cause arrhythmia!

Arrhythmias can be divided into two categories, rapid arrhythmias and slow arrhythmias, according to the speed of the heart rate during the attack. The former is seen in premature beats, atrial fibrillation, ventricular fibrillation, tachycardia, etc.; the latter is common in sinus bradycardia and various conduction blocks.

The human body has an autonomic nervous system (including sympathetic nerves, parasympathetic nerves and vagus nerves, etc.), which controls life-critical physiological functions such as heart rhythm, blood pressure, and breathing, and is not controlled by human emotions and will.

Sympathetic nerve excitement will increase the heart rate, while increased vagal nerve tone will slow down the heart rate, the two antagonize each other. When a person is emotionally excited or exercising, the sympathetic nerves are excited and the vagus nerve is also excited, but the heart rate increases overall.

Therefore, "if a person's emotions are particularly easily excited, it will definitely interfere with the heart rate. Some people's heart rhythm is very sensitive to emotions, which can cause arrhythmia," Luo Bihui pointed out.

Can extreme sadness or joy in ordinary people also cause arrhythmia?

For healthy people without underlying diseases, extreme joy or sorrow usually does not cause arrhythmia.

For people with underlying heart diseases (such as coronary heart disease, myocarditis, etc.), any excessive emotion can induce heart rhythm disorders, and in severe cases can even lead to sudden cardiac death.

However, Luo Bihui pointed out that emotions are normal expressions of human emotions, and patients with arrhythmia should pay more attention to the causes of the disease, treat and solve them from the source, and should not only focus on the negative effects of emotions.

A simple action to judge whether the heartbeat is normal

When arrhythmia (especially premature beats and atrial fibrillation) occurs, there are often obvious pulse beat characteristics, such as extremely irregular pulse beats, or the pulse rate fluctuates.

Feeling the pulse is the simplest way to initially diagnose arrhythmia. Luo Bihui suggested that when you feel palpitations or dizziness, you can feel your pulse, which will help detect abnormalities in your heartbeat early.
